I decided to create this topic because some of my favorite storys that get told are once about goofing off from around the table of an RPG and i thought It would ber nice to get some storys from around the comunity where a twist or a poorly thought out action lead to some intense Hijinx and Tomfoolery.
To give an example I’ll tell the story of “Serpus the accedental Jörmungandr”
So as a but of set building I never intended for there to be a snake in the first place. what the story had happen was one of their allies got kidnapped by an evil orginization known as Facet that was trying to steal their advanced cybernetics. I didnt have any Enviorment planned because it ws very unremakable and uninteractive. The kidnapped player was tied to a gurney and a time manipulayor was keeping him in place. The rest of the party broke through the celing prepared to clock the BBEG and his lackeys. Combat started pretty standardly until it came to the cyborgs turn, he decided to use his action to turn his ropes into snakes to escape. It fit with his powerset so I allowed it. He rolled a 2 on his mid and decided to take the twist in order to escape. He could’nt think of a twist and gave me the reigns. So the standard good news and bad news happened. " good news, your free. bad news the snake is a whole lot diffrent then you expect." The snake he summoned was a 120 foot long king cobra with 2 heads. I gave it d10 lieutenant stats and planned on having it go on the scene trackers turn. then another on eof my players rolled another major twist. She specificly asked for “a twist relating to the snake.” I told her to wait as a half baked plan formed in my head. The cobra used its turn to consume a multiverse powered generator. The energy destroyed its body and turned it into an unfathomable being of nigh omnipotance that is one with the surrounding area. I gave the the snake a name and told my player that they had successfuly made the enviorment for me. Next session they will have to deal ith both the BBEG and this monster of their own creation.
I just want hear stroys like this of total maddness around the table. This system encourages such with the twist system. i’d like to see how that has worked out.
