State of GTG - January 2018

It is a new year! We are wrapping up a lot of old projects, while reaching the middle of a bunch of others! Here's what we accomplished in December:

  1. Lots of going back and forth with the printer on OblivAeon proofs (there are so many cards!)
  2. We had a week-long intesive development session on Prime War.
  3. Maggie, our new Social Media Manager, started!
  4. We fixed a bunch of terrible bugs with our new web store.
  5. We had our annual GTG Employee Holiday Party.
  6. We wrote and edited more sections of the RPG core rulebook
  7. Christopher and Adam covered the walls of their office with sticky notes, which is a sign either of work getting done or impending madness.

Today I was feeling down in the dump, but now I'm better, especially after reading this and the OblivAeon KS update.

At least, we now have a decent realistic timeline, and it appears than SoEP is in the work too ... (I wonder if I will receive SoeP at the same time than Obliv' ^^)

I certainly hope we don't get Earth-Prime at the same time as OblivAeon.  For one, OblivAeon should be shipping in Q2 and SoEP is now estimated to be out in August or so.  For another, Christopher supposedly wasn't working on developing SoEP until after OblivAeon was fully developed, so it's unlikely he's even done with that yet.  Then Green Ronin has to thoroughly playtest the whole thing and get art commissioned for every individual card.  If SoEP even releases according to its current estimate, I don't think they'll have had nearly enough time to playtest, and I can't imagine the art would be of the advertised quality unless they commission dozens of artists to only do a few cards each (which would result in some style inconsistencies--which isn't necessarily a bad thing, real comic books have the same challenge--but it's logistically challenging).

Thanks as always Paul.  Since it is 2018 now can you give an expectation on when we see the cool Sentinels Comics things

There is a thing that will be announced along with / near the RPG kickstarter. There is another thing that isn't 100% my place to announce, but I believe will happen in the first half of the year.
