As an avid fan of all that is >G, I am looking forward to everything they have on the horizon (most notably Vengeance and GSF). I know the guys themselves are crazy busy with convention season, but I was wondering if anyone else in the know could kind of give a status report as far as Vengeance and GSF go. How is playtesting going? Almost done? Are they still both on schedule to make it out by October? or will one or both of them be delayed? Any info of any kind would be appreciated.
OMG! It's like someone reached into my head and pulled out my dreams. It's impossible to tell what's going on there but it certainly seems like an SotM minis game. It says it's in the Alpha stage so it's probably very far off but that could certainly be the other project using the SotM IP that was mentioned.
To answer Rabit's question, it's Christopher playing and you can clearly make out the Freedom Five minis on the board. Woot!
You can clearly identify Tachyon and Legacy are game pieces. This HAS to be the project that >G has been alluding to that extends the SotM universe past the final expansion for the card game.
Just from the picture, I am getting a very heavy Arkham Horror vibe. Mostly it has to do with how that board is layed out. Also I see a ton of mini cards, markers, tokens and more die than you can shake a stick at which all add to that impression. This is not entirly surprising but completly unexpected.
Also, the photo says that the other designer is Richard Launius, who is the creator of Arkham Horror. Given that Arkham is my 2nd favorite game, this is definitely something that would be awesome!
I missed that one! Great catch! I HAVE to wonder if Richard is more involved with this than just "playtesting" an alpha build. As I said above, the first thing my mind thought of when looking at that picture is how eerily similar that board is layed out to the current version of Arkham Horror. Not to mention the myriad of dice, tiny cards, character cards, tokens and what have you.
Faye Diamond took over the Diamond Investigations when her father retired. Gaining access to the agency files, she began to investigate the disappearance of her grandfather Joe over 70 years earlier. That investigation took her to Arkham, Mass. and deep into the workings of a coven of witches where she first came face to face with the Occult and magical relics.
