Played a random game in the digital version, giving me Cosmic Omnitron in Megalopolis vs. Mr. Fixer, Unity, Absolute Zero, and Argent Adept. Cosmic Omnitron wiped the floor with me, destroying all equipment twice and destroying all ongoings twice. A lot of my effort went in to stopping an EPE.
So, tried again. Much better this time. When Omnitron brought out Adaptive Plating, I looked at Unity's interleaved Raptors and Platform Bots and just smiled. Fixer started with Dual Crowbars and Grease Monkey. Ended the game with all heroes in the high teens, despite having ongoings and equipment wiped a couple of times. Unity's Bots are neither!
My wife and I had a similar set of games with Citizen Dawn: First game, she creamed us in about fifteen minutes. We reset the board with all the same decks. Second game, we walloped her in about fifteen minutes.
Somehow, I enjoyed our three-hour marathon battle against her at a friend’s game night better!
I find Apostate very swingy ,if he gets to play a couple of profane summons in a row he can mow through a team wile his relic keep him alive and do damage themselves
Ah -- my subject line does suggest I meant to imply that Omnitron is swingy. I actually think there are far swingier villains (agree that Apostate is a good example). All villains are at least somewhat swingy and I happened to experience a swing between these two games, but in reality I find Cosmic Omnitron pretty reliably challenging.
