Tactics' Ra New Identity

The kickstarter update 18 hints that Dr. Blake Washington isn't Ra anymore. While it could be pretty much anybody I'm more inclined to believe it is a character we already saw. It sounds like Ra got a younger more inexperieced hostr but a really motivated one. I used to laugh at how often Thiago theories kept popping up everywhere but it did strike me that since tactics is a few years later he could have had some time to mature a bit and that he could have the brash fiery disposition to face danger and his more cooperative mood with the freedom five could come from finally being able to work with his youth heroes including Legacy.

Feel free to post your own theories and debate on this thread.

Isn't Thiago a little white kid, though?  That would be an unusual transformation.

He's more Latino/Hispanic.

I could see it happening just look at Citizen assault.

Assault still looks like the very same race to me. The only difference I can see is he has a few more pounds of muscle added on.

New Ra looks North African or Middle Eastern to me.

I swear though the amount that Thiago is shoehorned in to people’s fan theories the more I want that kid to be retconned out of existence.

Add far as New Ra goes I think he looks similar to Atum, they’ve got a similar nose.

I wouldn't see why Atum would suddenly have become even more cooperative in general and even more with the freedom five... Oh yeah even thought I pushed out the theory that Thiago could be new Ra he could be retconned for all I care, I just felt that if he was gonna become important at some point taking the Ra mantle could do the trick. It's also worthy to know that we don't know the exact effect of the staff of Ra on ones body as I believe the only image we have of a Ra host not being Ra is on Excavation.

Well it is pretty clear that the Egyptian relics have have had some physical effects on those who works them, take Shu, Geb, and several others as an example before raising that tomb that whole team were normal humans, now we have a ghost lady and a snake headed guy. So I guess I’m too dismissive I’d the Thiago theory, but whenever he’s used in a theory it just seems like an epileptic tree (he’s the operatives son, he is the new Ra, he takes up the legacy mantle one day although this one makes the most sense because of how he’s dressed in every appearance)

As far as why I think Atum could be the new Ra, they do look rather similar to me, in Egyptian myth Atum and Ra sometimes are merged. And it just makes sense that someone tired to Ra’s storyline would take up his mantle, also shattered timelines set the precedent of a nemesis taking up their enemies mantle a (fright train becoming bunker)

Although this could just be some new guy, or Guise, it’s probably just Guise being Guise.

I would agree with Atum from the Ennead is the new Ra.  The reasons because of ties of Atum to Ra in Egyptian mythology, how his necklace matches the design Atum had on his head, and the facial hair/head shape seem to match.  I wonder what happened to Blake

With this, it is possible that Ra is still Blake Washington. The nose and general build are still similiar enough for me. The biggest difference is in skin tone, and that could simply be a combination of the Staff making Washington more "Egyptian" and the fact that tactics seems to take place… what, at least 5 years down the road? You'd get very, very tanned spending multiple years out in the desert sun with magic.

I think I prefer that "Ra" is becoming more dominant and changing Washington's body to look more like his body from thousands of years ago, after all he's been relying on this power an awful lot and the Darkwatch Nightmist theory with Anubis' rod also effects physical changes with relying on this egyptian power.

The other major reason that Ra may be a different person is that his personality changed. Except for the fiery characteristics possessing the staff gives, he sounds like a kid. Excited, helpful, wanting to help the FV, those all sound like DC’s Captain Marvel, who is actually a kid who transforms into an adult superhero, which is possible with a kid having the staff.

I had a friend who actually was curious about that.  Are the suns rays strong enough that The God of The Sun can get a tan from them?

He tans from the inside out.

And wears sunglasses at night.

so he can see.
