Team Leader Tachyon

Is it just me, or is TL Tachyon just crazy? Allowing all her teammates to draw a card every turn (more or less)....crazy. I just played a game with TL Tachyon, Bunker, and Haka, and we absolutely wiped the floor with Dawn; she never even got the chance to flip. Set up was crazy fast, as was charging up the Omni and Haka of Battle. Of course, TL wasn't all there offensively, but the support she provided more than made up for it.

Now of course, the team I had was heavily dependent on card draw, etc, but drawing more cards would benefit ANY hero.

Again, Team Leader Tachyon is just crazy.

She's my wife's new favorite.  We hardly ever play a game where she's not in it, handing out cards like candy.  Is nice.

She sacrifices her own ability to mill Burst cards in her own deck to support the team, much like how Legacy Galvanizes everyone else and sacrifices his chance to use a damage dealing power.  It's quite beautiful on a thematic level.

It does however make TLT great for cards/villains/environments which force one hero to discard a bunch of cards.

My wife has played her in every game since the expansion. Granted, we haven't played too many games recently, what with chasing the baby around and all.

Still, TLT makes having the right card almost guaranteed after a couple of rounds. It does make discarding your entire hand more annoying…until TLT gives you more cards. Sometimes I go to play with our daughter while my wife takes her turns and I come back with a bunch of new cards in my hand.

i love how she plays differently with the promo card. It really makes a difference for many characters.

I personally find it easier to unload the Lightspeed Barrages with TLT than the original. The innate extra draw allows you to get your Pushing the Limits, HUD goggles, and Research Grant a lot faster.

Reckless, I hadn't noticed that. Seems like team leaders have a common shtick, sacrificng your own plays for the good of the team :D

Tegulus, I totally agree. Normally, I'd be concentrating on dumping bursts, preparing for a triple Lightspeed Barrage to end the game, all the while plinking damage and trying to keep everyone safe with Hypersonic. But with TLT, I end up not, er, saving up bursts in the trash anymore. She really becomes almost a *pure* supporter. Same goes for Legacy and YL: Legacy is primarily a support character, but YL turns him into a damage-dealer. Amazing how just changing one card (though of course, its the main one) can change the play style of certain heroes :))

And who's the only other character we know who leads a superhero team?

The Argent Adept

I thought the AA sacrificed helping the rest of the team to start singing and banging on instruments?

I find her a little crazy too, yeah. I mean, everyone effectively drawing two cards a turn and usually playing only one means everyone ends up with HUGE hands. Some character like Haka or Nightmist or such have reliable and repeatable ways to discard cards for extra effect, but a lot of the others I've played in games with Team Leader Tachyon will end up with ludicrously sized hands in only a few rounds barring environment or villain forced-discarding.

Shoot, even INCLUDING villain or environment forced discarding.  I've found my heroes miles more willing to discard their hand for Toxic Seaweed or Crushing Hallway if Team Leader Tachyon is in the game.  They'll have more options soon.  It's refreshing.

Yeah, she's really good, perhaps too good, but unlike some broken situations, I don't find I mind playing with her.  Go figure.  I expect her to make a huge impact in the statistics.

So... I just played another game with the same team, Haka, Bunker, and TLT. I was able to get Omni and Haka of Battle in my opening hands, so I just spent the rest of the fight charging both of them up. Again, TLT helped a whole load. Long story short, I was able to blast Voss to kingdom come in one round, more or less. Dayummmmmmm

TLT against advanced apostate didn't go so well for me last night...until the tomb is destroyed, you really cant use your power unless you want to walk into 4 villain cards.  ugh.

Melonball, that...is true. Ugh. Advanced Apostate is beast. I hate that tome.

I actually think starting with the Tome usually makes Advanced Apostate easier than having the Tome inevitably come out mid game along with the Runes of Malediction and the Orb of Delirium.

I've never thought about it like that.  Here I am, cavalierly killing Advanced Apostate, and you're very possibly right.  The Tome thrives with those other relics, and it's far more likely to happen with a mid-game Profane Summons.  Furthermore, it's also supposed to bring Condemnation back, something I've never seen it do in an Advanced game, since it's dead long before Condemnation dies.  In a basic game, though, it could.

I'll have to try "Basic" Apostate.

So... you're saying that in some ways, Advanced is easier than Basic Apostate? Hmmm... I think I'll have to play them both soon...

It may be that way, from what I've seen advanced chairman is easier than basic due to him flipping much earlier. At least in our experiences that is.

To be honest, I don't like bringing forward the moment the Chairman flips and gives the Hired Gun a +4 damage buff.

On Topic:

TL Tach has 169 games (most of allt he promo heroes cards, though less than any standard hero card) and an 85% win rate, easily topping the spread (excluding Greatest Legacy which only has 20something games)

Yes. She is /powerful/ for winning the game by boosting her teammates. Card Draw=Superior
