Okay, so I don’t use Spotify or any of those other sites that have a ‘wrapped’, but for some reason I felt like making a list of my top ten episodes from this year? I don’t know why?? And it took a long time even though I was just listening to the issue/creative part???
Anyway, in episode order, though I’ll say, since I had to rank them to make sure I only had 10, Deathfiend was my #1, over Wipeout. But again, in airing order, with a little tag to remind me which was which:
272 - Mystery Comics Vol. 2 #485 (Serpentimes)
276 - Freedom Five #431 (Cryptic Glues)
279 - Cosmic Tales Vol. 2 #533 (Greazer & Fashion vs. Card Shark)
280 - Disparation Vol. 2 #122 (end of the Oracle of Discord)
282 - ADITL Fanatic
288 - Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3 #4 (The Death and Return of Skeleton Key)
285 - Wipeout #1-4
292 - Cosmic Tales Vol. 2 #525 & #526 (Sky-Scraper, Fashion and Ruin)
296 - Mystery Comics Vol. 2 #278 (Darkstrife vs. Painstake with Blaze Savage)
301 - Who is Deathfiend?
Because I’m super behind and those three are the only 2024 episodes that I’ve hitherto listened to. : / Nonetheless, I can still rank them, I guess. (Weird that they’re all Volume 2s.)
Deathfiend was fabulous, which I credit entirely to how it allowed us so much historical context across a larger scope of Sentinels history compared to some other stories. Cryptic Glues was definitely my number one of the regular writers rooms experiences. I also enjoyed Day in the Life of Argent Adept, and Greazer and Fashion vs. Card Shark, and Bunker in Space.
I realized last night, when Adam posted all this year’s covers on Twitter, that I actually missed, like, a whole page of episodes D: oh well, next year I plan to keep track as they’re released! that’s a resolution you can count on!
The Twitter thread was the covers he drew in 2024, and that was the one “pre-Writer’s Room Writer’s Room” cover he caught up on. So IIRC the one non-2024 episode he did a 2024 cover for. (Still wish he’d stayed on doing that catching up…)
i’m kind of behind on the newer eps, but my Top Ten of this year is probably this:
