The Multiverse: Alternate Universe Versions of SotM Characters

The Kvothe as Argent Adept promo thread got me thinking about what alternate dimensions might exist in the Sentinels Multiverse.  Shattered Timelines touched on this classic comic book trope a bit with Iron Legacy, but that's really more of an alternate possible future than a full alternate reality (ditto for The Visionary's backstory).  Given that the game is called Sentinels of the Multiverse, we really need some true inter-dimensional versions of the characters.

So, here are some of the alternate universe versions of SotM characters that I'd want to see, starting with the F5:

Victorian steampunk Wraith

Sir Bunker of the Round Table

Absolute Zombie

The Council of Tachyons (perhaps they're the launching *point* for the dimensional *crisis*)

and, of course, no Multiverse would be complete without... the anthropomorphic rabbit version of Legacy

Bonus: We can't skip the dimension in which Baron Blade is the only hero in a world of villains.

P.S. I LOVE that the SotM universe is so well designed, that I'm already putting these stories together in my head and can totally picture what the comics would look like.

One thought is a William Tell version of Chrono-Ranger.

Mr. Fixer mashed up with Captain Nemo.

I'd love to see somebody who could be part of a Count of Monte Cristo-type story.

I'm with you on that one!

I would think that an Expatriette / Count of Monte Cristo story would work well.  After being betrayed by her mother and locked away for years, she escapes and returns for revenge.  Bonus: Amanda in Napoleonic era ballgowns!  :slightly_smiling_face:

For Chrono-Ranger, I can't help but think of Roland and the Dark Tower (but that may be a bit too spot on with the character's inspiration)

Some more ideas:

Fanatic / Joan of Arc (Obvious, but that's the AU trope sometimes)

Ra / Instead of discovering the Staff of Ra, archaeologist Blake Washington uncovered the Necklace of the Aztec god, Quetzalcoatl

Haka / Calico Haka (Pirate Captain Calico Jack Rackham). Of course, given Haka's age, he might have been a pirate captain at one point.

Nightmist / Maltese Falcon-esque 1940s gumshoe story

Samantha Spade!

For Chrono-Ranger, I can't help but think of Roland and the Dark Tower (but that may be a bit too spot on with the character's inspiration)

I must definitively say that Dark Tower is zero percent of Chrono-Ranger's inspiration.

Do any of our other suggestions meet with your creative approval?

They're all cool concepts. I just have heard the "Chrono-Ranger is clearly inspired by Dark Tower" a bunch and wanted to put that to rest.

A different Ra might discover one of Kali's swords, or Poseidon's trident.

Editing to add: Thom Merrilin of the Wheel of Time could be another Virtuoso of the Void.

I'd like to see a Blake Washington who took up the mantle of Atum and a Roderick Ward  who took up the mantle of Ra!

I think it would also be cool to see an alternative Scholar who had seven much smaller metal spheres rather than his large philospher's stone.

Bonus points for you if you know what I'm getting at with The Scholar reference

Sorry to add to that Christopher, I didn't know it was a thing and until you mentioned it.  Honeslty, until I started this thread, I had just assumed Chrono-Ranger was inspired by Jonah Hex (with a dash of Booster Gold and the JLU "Once and Future Thing: Wierd Western Tales" episode).  It wasn't until I started thinking about SotM Elseworlds matchups that I relaized the similarity to the gunsliger at the end of time from Dark Tower,  Personally, I've always felt that Dark Tower was overrated anyway - Jim deserves better.

No worries! Nothing wrong in mentioning it. Just figured I'd point it out so it was known. No harm in speculation and consideration.

Especially since Jim is clearly based on Billy the Kid from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

I want the Amanda who was born with powers and murdered her mother to take charge of the Citizens and turn them into a much less passive group.

I want the Parse that merged with Cosmic Omnitron forming some bizarro Technological Spider Queen horror.

I want the Scholar that joined a bowling league and missed out on finding the Philosopher Stone.

I want the Haka that goes undercover as a Police detective.

A steampunk Matty that controls a flock of mechanical birds.

OMGFATEYESYES

Anthony "T.D." Drake of the boy band "Argent Adept and The Silver Shadows".

Chairman Montgomery, with her boyfriend The Operative, who grew cold, heartless, and hardened after a harrowing encounter on a date in their youth.

Riske, Agent of F.I.L.T.E.R., who offsets his bad luck with his combat training.  After Peter Riske infiltrated Baron Blade's lair as an undercover agent masquerading as a hapless casino worker, he was subjected to experimentation resulting in him generating bad luck.  After being further outfitted with some anti-entropy super tech by F.I.L.T.E.R., he became the Japing Yager Neutralizing Xenocracy.  His outfits always rip and his tech always breaks, but no one survives an encounter with J.Y.N.X.

Grand Warlord Dall'ton, who destroyed Voss and took control of his vast Gene-Bound army, enacting revenge against the galaxy despite the protests of the few remaining Maerynians.

Bunker in a power suit made entirely of wood.

Brian Blessed as Fanatic.

The Naturist's adventures - not porn, but a superhero who desperately tries to fight crime and save the world but keeps getting kicked out of places and arrested for public nudity.

Temp Pest, an annoying short-term office worker.

Ok is it just me or does the idea of an alternate universe, good Baron Blade in a team against Iron Legacy sound like too much fun. Of course we already have Omnitron X...

Baron Blade and his Virtuous Five are Earth's last hope against Iron Legacy and his Oppressive Five.

I like the sound of Freedom Battalions.
