I want to apologize ahead of time in case this was brought up before, but this question came up over the weekend during a game my group was playing against the vengeance five. My friend was playing The Sentinels and decided to play Unique Capabilities, giving him a chance to search through his deck for a signature card and put it into play. However, when he played the one-shot, he had all of his signature cards either in play or in his hand and thought it allowed him to put one of the signature cards from his hand into play, then proceeding with the rest of the text on Unique Capabilities. Did we play this right? I didn't think so since he had all of his signature cards in his hand or in play so I thought the card would fizzle. Any guidance would be most appreciated! Thanks in advance!
You can only search your deck for the card. If there are none,, you are out of luck. however, the rest of the card doesn't fizzle, since it doesn't say "If you do.." Therefore, you could still draw a card, and play a card. of corse, the card you play could be the Signature card in your hand.
If the Signature card is played from the deck. If there are no Signature cards in the deck, he does not get to play one out of hand for free. But it still lets you draw a card then play a card, so he could play the card from hand then.
