The Multiverse is so rich that I can't help but think about all the stories that could be told in it. The stories I would like to read, the comics I would like to see published, all the strange things that could happen in this comics world. Some of these "themes" have became an obsession of sorts. Am I the only one ? Do you have, too, ideas for specific tales in the Multiverse ? I would like to read about them !
Here a few of my ideas - of course, by posting these ideas there, I recognize that they are not mine, but property of Greater Than Games, especially because some may already be written in their notes ;)
"End of Line" : a special issue short about Legacy, and a choice he has to make. Broken by a tragedy, the hero reflects on his past, his mistakes. With the help of the Visionary (or is it the Dark Visionary?) Legacy explores the past of his family, maybe discovering why the Parsons have powers - or where they come from. At the final crossroad, what road will Legacy chose to follow ? And who is behind this ordeal ?
"A day in the life : Citizen Dawn" : The Citizens are not inherently bad guys. They have powers, and want to live in their own new civilization. They also want to rule, and it is the reason heroes fight against them - but there is a lot to tell about the society they have created, their way of life, their other goals, dreams and hopes. Let's follow the life of a few Citizens - and their leader - as a new menace threatens Insula Primalis, and discover that, maybe, someday, hope will come with Dawn, for everyone.
"Citizen Dream" : how long can the young Vanessa Long be protected from the scientists who would use her as a weapon ? Would Citizen Dawn and her followers let such a powerful young super-human live among the mundanes ? What if the only chance for Visionary to protect her young self from outside harm was to let her live with the Citizens, the only people around able to teach her to control her phenomenal powers ?
I would love to see more stories come out about the multiverse and everyone we know in it. Of course, since an actual comic takes quite a while to make, I'd be happy just having some written stories about the heroes, some of which we've seen bouncing around here on the forums. But those are technically fan fiction. Not saying they're bad; some of them are great. But I'd like the canon story to be written for us to read.
However, I'm always eager to read fan written stories. Those can be really great as well.
I seem to remember hearing from a podcast Christopher participated in that illustrating a comic is much less tiresome for Adam than making unique artwork for hundreds of cards. If they ever started releasing hard copy issues of more comics or started a Kickstarter to fund a trade (or, dare I say, even an ongoing), they would have even more of my money.
Amen to that! I love comic books, and with a multiverse of already developed and diverse characters, comic books like these would be incredible! The one I would like to read about the most is Tempest. I don't know why, but that guy just screams awesome to me.
My boyfriend has told me repeatedly that if there was a Sentinels comic, he'd be buying it. He says he loves the artwork on all the cards and stuff, so if there was a comic-book story released of the various Sentinels characters, he'd be there :).
Dudes. Expatriette and Chrono Ranger Limited series? Anyone? Eh? I'd buy that for $2.99! Even $3.99! But it'd have to be an Annual if they wanted $4.99 out of me. I'd call it "Bullets and Sunshine".
Just to set the record straight, Reckless has it backwards. Doing card art is much easier for me because I basically just get to draw the fun panels. In terms of volume, a single issue is about the same quantity of individual drawings as a standard-size Sentinels expansion, but a large chunk of the drawings in a comic book are boring dialogue panels. Rest assured, it is our intention to continue making comics as well, and to further the story of Sentinels, and we're exploring some different options to do so consistently.
A friend of mine is working on a project called Art of Sequence, a framework/tool to create online narrative content. It seems a good time to talk about it, even if I don't know if anyone here will be interested ;)
Oh, shock! I'm sorry Adam! Guess I should've made sure I was citing my source correctly. I cannot art, so I have no concept of how easy or hard doing artwork of any kind is. Both the comic and the game look beautiful, and you've made magnificent improvement on your work over the past two expansions and the EE touch ups (and it was already pretty awesome to begin with)!
Even though I don't play him a lot, I would really like to see an issue of when Absolute Zero joined the Freedom Five. I just would love to see all five interacting and beating up baddies together.
