It's more than 4/4 oblivion in the Realm of Discord, maybe you need another dark watch on the team.
Also, weirdly did a 4/4 oblivion (technically a 6/6, thanks Legacy), and killed all of Apostate's relics, AND apostate... and despite killing the artifacts first, he flipped to infernal emissary side.
I've been playing one match for a while. I used Oblivion 3 times after Spite had flipped. Had Master of Magic, Amulet, and Necklace out for all three. First two times were 1 & 2 and 2 & 4. Third time was a Heedless Lash into an Oblivion for 2 2s. When that Oblivion was cast, Nightmist was under 10 health. No unlock.
Who was on your team Arcanist? Any dark watch members?
Also, Maybe we need more than one oblivion with a 4 in it to be played over the course of the game?
Expatriette, either dark watch, or normal seems to be a fairly stable constant, according to the unlock screenshots over on steam.

No Dark Watch. Nightmist, Legacy, and Dark Visionary.
EDIT: Tried it again, with the three Dark Watch. More or less the same setup. No luck.
Unlocked with a 4/4 oblivion on gloomweaver in the realm.
expatriette, argent adept, tempest and dark visionary on team.
master of magic was out for NM, but nothing else. No amulet.
My theory: expatriette must be on team with nightmist, master of magic must be out, and an oblivion must flip 4/4.
my other theory is the same as the above, but it must also be in the realm of discord.
Also, it was the first and only oblivion I played. So it isn't multiple oblivions.
Thanks pete. The first people who got the unlock reported having done it with a 4/non 4. So unless that was a bug, there's something we're missing. I might try another theory on a different computer to see if I can get it again: putting several 4's into the discard pile in a single round.
I had the perfect set-up for a 4/4 Oblivion and no unlock. Time Flies was out and AA played two Vernal Sonatas to let NightMist stack her deck. Expatriette was on the team (not Dark Watch). Maybe I have to kill GloomWeaver with the damage?
That's exactly the same thing I had...I think time flies was out, and I had regular Expatriette too... I had stacked with 2 vernal sonatas as well. I didn't finish off gloomweaver with the damage...and I think the villain doesn't matter anyway.
so there's something else going on...
Geneticdrift unlocked her while fighting Spite, so it seems unlikely (especially as Dark Visionary required that you fight Gloomy, and I think that they like to have some variation in the conditions). I incapped the last of the Ennead with a 3/4 Oblivion, without success, so I doubt that that's it either.
I also tried a 4/3 oblivion, on the off chance that it was the first number that had to be a 4, and we were just missing it without the double 4s. Although that wouldn't be reasonable play outside of double 4s, so maybe not. Either way, it didn't work.
Did you have master of magic in play?
Yes. Which actually made it difficult to test my other suspicion, that she has to be injured. Nightmist is a ridiculous tank.
I notice that you (Natediggadoggity) have NightMist at full HP, could it be something like playing an Oblivion and still having full HP at the end of the turn?
EDIT: I also see that Steam user Cheesypie had NightMist at full HP
Poring over several of the other recent screenshots on steam, There's been a couple nightmists at 17, one at 13, and another at 20 hp, so that's not it.
Just thought I'd log a failed attempt. My theory based on what we've heard was that it might be some combination of:
Dark Watch Expatriette on the team
Realm of Discord
Master of Magic
Using Oblivion to "clear the board" and win
Managed to do all that. No dice.
And it's not just a 4/4 Oblivion in Realm of Discord with Expatriette on the team, either. Vs Akash'Bhuta, started out with Master of Magic, Amulet of the Elder Gods, and Elder Ring in play. (Ended with none of those in play. Kiiiiiind of forgot there was an Imbued Vitality on the field. Whoops!)
Other teammates were Legacy, Argent Adept, and Tempest.
Spite and Gloomweaver ARE kind of Dark Watch nemeses, maybe it just has to be one of them?

Realm of discord
Expatriette on team.
Use an Oblivion that deals at least 25 total damage.
or some x number of damage.
Is it possible that the spell value of the Oblivion played matters?
I did a 4 oblivion into a 4-4 to kill Gloomy w MOM out on the Realm with Expat. Nada.
I think choice of villain, spell power on Oblivion, and how Oblivion enters play have all been effectively ruled out as factors. In theory, it's possible, but it would have to be some really convoluted scenario to allow for that. At this point, I think probably either Expatriette and Legacy both have to be on the team, or it has something to do with the damage output.
