Variant Unlock: Eternal Haka

Got him.

I think you may have to do it twice.

1st game - haka, zero, and scholar vs. Blade in the wasteland. All 3 haka played. Library never showed up. Haka only survivor.

2nd game tempest, Scholar,  Argent adept, and Haka vs. Ambush adequate in the wasteland. Drew Haka's entire deck. Library appeared, used once. All three haka played, Haka only survivor.  Unlock occurred at game end.

I just unlocked him on what I *think* was my first try: Young Legacy, Tempest, and Haka versus Ambuscade on the Final Wasteland. I've probably played with Haka on the Final Wasteland before, but I don't think he's been last hero standing. I used all three Hakas, Tā Moko and Dominion were both out along with most of his equipment, Punish the Weak and Enduring Intercession definitely were not. All three unique FW cards were out. The entire rest of the environment was under Savage Mana.

EDIT: I have, however, won a game before with Haka as the last hero standing (with Expatriette, Fanatic, and Unity against Voss on Insula Primalis). Maybe you just need to win two games with Haka as the last hero standing.

Well, just to test, I played another game just now.  Previously, I had Haka as the only survivor in a match against Ambuscade in the Final Wastelands, and just now I play a game with Haka as the sole survivor against Ambuscade in Insula Primalis.  So, if it's the 2 game thing, then either the second needs to be in Final Wastelands, or they both do.

I went up againist baron blade and omnitron in the wasteland with same team of legacy, ra, haka, expatriate and mr. fixer. I purposely did not allow anyone to die to only test if winning in final wasteland againist two different villians was valid. No unlock.

I just played again with the EXACT same team I used before (Haka, Scholar, Wraith, Haka), and played all 3 Hakas (again), and Haka was the last hero standing (again), and finish Ambuscade off with a big Haka of Battle (again).  Got the unlock this time?!  I'm not sure if I saw Unforgiving Wasteland in the first game, but this time I ended with Library, Bunker, and Wasteland all in play.

Sailboat, that is valuable information, but is there any way on this forum to do a spoiler tag so we don't have to scroll through the whole post to get to the next one?

Did we ever figure this out?

Not yet.

And MigrantP just posted that we're really close to the Scholar condition....and hasn't said anything similar here, so I assume we're not that close yet.

You've been heading in the right direction. I think there's enough information here and on the Steam thread to put it all together, too =)

Managed to unlock eternal Haka.

Haka, ExPatriette, Rook City Wraith vs Ambuscade in Final Wasteland

Game ended with Haka as last man standing, Library out

This was also the second game I had played that ended this way.  The heroes were different other than Haka, but it was still Ambuscade.

I'd say:

Haka last man standing in Final Wasteland with library out, in two different games. At the absolute minimum.

Playing at least one of each "Haka" card might be a required condition as well

I unlocked Eternal Haka a 2nd time on my PC.

1st win was against Ambuscade - normal.
2nd win was against Baron Blade - normal.
Both games were in The Final Wasteland.

Taiaha was in play at time of the 1st win.
I did not play Taiaha at all on the 2nd win.
Mere was in play at time of both wins.
Ta Moko was in play at time of both wins.
I did not play Savage Mana at all on the 1st win.
Savage Mana was in play at time of the 2nd win and was used to win the game.
Rampage was played in both game. Rampage ended the 1st game.
I did play all 3 different “Haka of” cards during the course of both games.
Ancient Library was in play at time of win in both games.
Unforgiving Wasteland was in play at the of win in both games.
Con’s Bunker was not played or in play at the time 1st win.
Con’s Bunker was in play at time of the 2nd win.
Haka was the sole survivor in both wins (as in, no other targets were in play).

So I wanted to test whether all 3 Hakas did in fact need to be played, and it appears they do, at least during the second game (if two games are in fact required?). I can further confirm that the Library is not neccesary, and the number of cards drawn does not appear to factor in.

Game 1: BB in Wasteland. Haka last hero standing. HoR only Haka played. Haka drew 9 cards outside of draw phase via Dominion, Mere, & HoB. Library out but not used. No unlock.

Game 2: BB in Wasteland. Haka last hero standing. HoR only Haka played. Haka drew 11 cards outside of draw phase via Dominion, Mere, & HoR(x2)Library not played. No unlock.

Game 3: BB in Wasteland. Haka last hero standing. HoR, HoS, and HoB all played. Haka drew 9 cards outside of draw phase via Dominion, Mere and one of each HakaLibrary not played. Unlocked.

I believe we have established that the library is not necessary.

I noticed the same thing when I unlocked Eternal Haka.

Game 1: Gloomweaver in Wasteland. Scholar, Legacy & Haka. Haka last hero standing. No Haka cards played. No unlock (Coincidentally, Scholar of the Infinite unlocked).

Game 2: Gloomweaver  in Wasteland. Variant Scholar, Variant Legacy (past) & Haka.  Haka last hero standing. No Haka cards played.  No unlock.

Game 3: Variant Gloomweaver  in Wasteland. Variant  Scholar, Variant Legacy (past) & Haka.  Haka last hero standing. HoR, HoS, and HoB all played once.  Unlocked.

Based on everything I read, my guess is that you need to win at least 2 games with Haka as the only hero remaining. The second win must be in Final Wasteland and all Haka cards are played (must have discarded cards for all Haka cards).

Well done bmlc32 on putting the pieces together. This one was tricky to deduce, but a few of you got onto the right path! Here is the official condition for The Eternal Haka:

Win a game where Haka is the only non-incapacitated hero. Then, defeat any villain in The Final Wasteland, playing each “Haka of” card at least once each. Again, Haka must be the only non-incapacitated hero.

Poor Haka...watching his friends fall around him.  :_(

Twice no less

ugh so much work especially with finals week. how many more days till the automatic unlock becomes available so I can enjoy this promo without doing anything.

They're only incapacitated, not removed from game.

Until they die from old age.

Actually, I empirically discovered you still get the unlock when they're removed from the game by Unforgiving Wasteland, as well!

(Also when it happened, to AZ, he stuck at the 'injured' picture and displayed as if he had full hit points, although he didn't get a turn or anything, which was... odd.)
