More then a game mechanic this needs to be a movie … I would watch the hell out of it
I had kind of forgotten the whole "hungers for a thousand souls" thing with his sword…he might be more than technically Evil, so him as simply a misunderstood badass being harassed by an overly judgmental Templar is not quite the reality of it. Still, I think a "dark" and anti-heroic character would be a good addition to the Sentinels canon.
It's ok if he only consumes "evil" souls...
I wonder how the vengeance five would hold up as heroes, because I'd personally love to play proletariat, the whole multiplying thing mixed with communist dogma, man that would be fun to roleplay.
Even if not for the quotation marks, that would be a very disturbing statement. Remember, Hitler thought he was a hero protecting Aryan society from the Hebrew menace. Anytime you have a group of people labelled as unworthy of human dignity, no matter what their ostensible crimes, it's a recipie for injustice.
Apologies... forgot to turn on the sarcasm font
Really, Godwin's law so early? :] Godwin's law - Wikipedia
"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you."
I'm surprised it took this long…
NAZIS!!!
Ambuscade FTW! Everytime I play against him I'm long to play as him and as you said it wouldn't be hard to accept him switching sides after all the villians would make for some great hunts, I mean who wouldn't want a alien warlord stuffed in their living room or to mount the heads of gods on your wall!
Well from the looks of things in Vengeance, Ambuscade seems to be taking his hero-hunting to new heights, I doubt the heroes would have him at this point.
There was also a comment from Christopher in a podcast way back when, about a potential scenario in Sentinel Tactics involving Ambuscade being hired by The Chairman. Which, you know, doesn't exactly scream 'good guy'.
Oh man, I want to play that right now. Would be sick.
As weak as Ambuscade is normally, in the V5 conversion he's wicked, just lobbing damage at you while you are trying to deal with other villains, it's nasty. And of course V5 Blade's advanced text makes him so much harder.
The Proletariat suggestion is a good one. The Red Army is what stopped the Nazis, after all- say what you want about the USSR but that's historical fact. Proletariat got a raw deal- grows up during some of the worst years of the Soviet terror, fights on the Eastern Front, gets experimented on, frozen in carbonite, then used as a tool by Baron Blade because he doesn't know any better? Harsh! We'd like the chance to play him as a hero, both for the mechanics and for the aesthetics.
Awesome idea he might be playable with little modifications: Double up his cards, make ongoings limited and change his power to
Commy Strike: Deal a target two melee damage
And let the player direct the instances of damage where he wills except for the self damage of course. Would need playtest to actually balance but the fact that he is worth 1 H means is probably isn't too far from an actual hero's power level. It strikes me that he shares a lot of common ground with Unity as he has the same weakness against damage to all hero targets.
Incap powers: Destroing an environment card; Destroy a hero card to heal that hero's caracter card 3 Hp; Increase next damage dealt by a hero target by 2
those are for the sake of an example
Shouldn't his power target everyone, since it's a "Commy Strike" eveyone should get the same
The power<s intent was to reflect the 2 damage he does at the end of his turn usually and he can't have cards that deal multiple instances of damage else everyman<s strengh would level the playing field. I also forgot the 4 nemesis cards meaning 8 more cards would be needed, probably something to deal with ongoings and environment as a one shot three times in the deck, maybe equipment like the Hammer and the Sickle and another tutor card that gives yout the choice between getting a clone or an equipment from your deck. Add limited to his ongoings to prevent abuse. To top it off an incapacited side with him in a straightjacket since he couldn't stand the mental strain of the clones anymore.
Proletariat seems to only use a hammer in combat; the sickle seems to just be on his costume. Probably wanted to make sure the Party didn't mistakenly assume he was a farmer.
I was only poking fun. I am waiting on my vengeance so I don't really know much about him but I couldn't let a joke like that go unsaid. However I believe he would be very bitter towards the USA and wouldn't have much interest in siding with Legacy or anyone who would unless the threat was aimed at the motherland itself and even then he might not care much since it's no longer communist and could feel like a betrayal to him.
