This is the ongoing card that reverses the order of the hero turn. If you are under the effect of this card, and you play a card that destroys ongoing cards during your "play a card" phase, does the turn reset at that moment? The "play a card" phase is the second-to-last phase while under the card's effect.
Which of these would happen?
1) You finish your turn as if the card were still there, and the next player takes there's in the proper order. This is the least likely as the SotM mechanic doesn't tend to ignore things like that.
2) The turn resets. Since you were on the second to last phase, you now go to the last phase which would be "end of turn" again, and any "end of turn" effects go off again.
3) The turn resets. Instead of looking at your position in the turn ordianally, the game looks at it by position name. Since you just finished your "play a card" phase, you are now on your "use a power" phase again. You would get to use a power, draw a card, and trigger end of turn effects again.
It would be similar to 3, but you would still technically be on your play phase at the moment of it's destruction, but after the play phase is complete you would move on to the power phase.
The turn would continue, from the phase you are currently on.
The best was Flechettes from an EDU by Omnitron-X.
The only sad thing was since it doesn't reverse the order cards came into play so we didn't get to use his components twice.
Here's a side question to this: With Self-Destruct Sequence sending you to the end of your turn to add a card to the pile, you would go back through to the start of your turn, where you would again have the option to skip your turn.
Wouldn't this just cause an infinite loop?
And since that isn't a thing what part would cause it to not be an infinite loop?
That makes better sense. We played it as 2 and repeated the end phase only. 3 makes more sense as the game looks at phase names not where they fall in turn order.
It was sort of a panic call since we hadn't seen anything like it before.
Another issue I remember coming up with this card was "Do you get to draw twice in your Draw phase because you haven't played a card or used a power yet?". I don't recall there being a specific conclusion reached as to whether or not you can, but when it came up in the game I played against the Wager Master, we just drew once.
Yeah, I can see the reasoning for drawing once and for drawing twice. It'd be nice to have an official definition, though :).
Another thing I'm not sure on is that card of Guise's where he pinches someone else's stuff (haven't actually played Guise since getting him so far, been busy getting our arses kicked by most of the new villains and wanted to save him till we're up against someone whose deck I know better ;)), and the wording of the card implies the other person can still use it (it only says it affects Guise as though it was his, it doesn't say it affects the original owner that way as well :P) but the official clarification says they can't. I'm still not sure which way I'm gonna go on that one when it comes up in-game…
Guise used to take the card from the other player's hand and put it in front of himself, then destroyed the card or returned it to owner's hand, changed between versions. Putting it on a card that's already in play is much better. Playtesters know how it used to be so the intent of the card seems more obvious to us.
