- First, after preorder shipping has completed and GtG has finished moving into their new office, are there plans to do a warehouse party to celebrate the release of WCos?
- If the answer to the above is yes, I would like to propose that, as part of the event, a delegation take a selection of games - including but not limited to SotM - and pay a visit to the children's ward at Barnes (Memorial Hospital). I know that St Louis has a pretty well-known children's hospital, and right before I moved to North Carolina the local gaming group had done an event at the local Ronald McDonald house to help brighten up the day of some of its residents. It seems like it would be a good thing to do.

I would love to see the >G headquarters for the first time. I was a bit discouraged to go to the Tactics tournament due to my complete lack of knowledge of the characters (I only played one game, and it was with The Operative). But this would for sure be something I'd want to attend. Gas money be damned!
Ok, so, this is definitely something we're going to give some thought to. The timing is the trickiest bit. Were I to be a fortune teller with a completely clear view of the future, I would likely say that this would happen sometime in the spring at the earliest. It would definitely be no earlier than the end of January, due to PAX South, and it's likely that it will have to wait until PAX East. But stay tuned. We like it.
From the standpoint of pure convenience on my end, I'd vote for either the weekend of March 19-20 or else Memorial Day weekend. However, it's ultimately up to y'all.
My lack of response was due to a lack of being on the right continent, but I like the idea.
I don't know how things work over the pond, but the thing that would concern me about it would be checking all the necessary child protection boxes - over here you can't just walk into a hospital or school with a bunch of people and some games and interact with children.
I needed a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check (which can take weeks to process) and had to attend child protection training and fill in a lengthy form to sing carols for a couple of hours with children in a hospital with parents, hospital staff, other members of my choir, and my choral director and his wife who are both teachers. Same for teaching children opera and African music.
This stuff's just not obvious to anyone who hasn't done official volunteering, so I thought I'd point out in case - apologies if you already know about it or this isn't relevant for the US!
something similar happens for people who want to do official volunteering through schools. The potential need for that had to do with why I was proposing it way in advance of any possible event.
What a neat idea - it would probably make the most sense as part of the Annual Gathering of Heroes. I've got connections with the Child Life department at StL Children's Hospital - they'd probably be the ones to ask about setting something up.
