Weekly One-Shot #115 SHENANIGANS

So La Capitain, Christopher & Adam, Proletariat, and Plague Rat all punching hard and fast whilst falling through the time stream.

Good thing Mr Fixer, Omnitron X, The Dark Conductor and The Naturalist were able to sneak aboard to prevent them damaging too much of the time steam.

So that did not go well. Turn 1 fixed point lead to difficulties… Got 2 different positions out during fixed point for Hammer and Anvil and then never saw another one.

It spiraled horribly out of control from there. After some aggrijous misplays on my part managed to stabilise long enough to win. With everyone but The Naturalist dead and I only made it because one off a lucky ¿Quando? ¡Ahora! into a Feral Fury  to Mint… I do not deserve that  :open_mouth:

I kinda wish I could have gotten a nicer combo than Jack Handle + Hoist Chain, but I'll admit, it was great for keeping Plague Rat under control. Naturalist got Rhino + Croc, Omnitron had two Platings (and did 8 damage to everything at one point with Defensive Blast!). I do love Fixed Point shenanigans, and this was a fun and easy one-shot for it. :) Mint.

I was thankful for the Hoist Chain and Jack Handle combo as that saved Omnitron-X from losing components a few times.

Wait, wait, wait. Indestructible means can't be returned to hand? Ohhhhhh! Man, did I ever miss out, then. I thought it only meant if they were destroyed. I was wondering why the Naturalist was the only one who seemed to have a decent setup for Fixed Point after the description made such a big deal about it. That made my game much harder than it needed to be.

I focused on Hammer And Shield and then on Anvil since Bastion was out. It took a while, but for the most part it wasn't too bad. Omnitron managed to have every component in his deck out which kept up hp regen and did decent damage to boot. Naturalist pulled out Croc+Rhino and then was set up well, too. Argent Adept gave all his card plays to Omnitron and Naturalist to keep them going strong. Mr. Fixer used Driving Mantis to avoid most damage and redirect it.

I meant to keep Atlantean Throne Room out, but I didn't read it carefully and I thought it meant it went away only if any cards were drawn. Doh! While it was out, most damage was being ignored or causing hardly any issues, while Naturalist with Cornered Beast out was able to still deal damage. But I screwed up and let it go.

After Anvil, Hammer went down, but everyone was in low teens. Mr. Fixer brought our Jack Handle and started taking out clones. All the characters were around 10 except Plague Rat, who was at 21. And then Plague Rat unloaded on Mr. Fixed and brought him to near death. So Plague Rat become enemy #1. He went down along with Proletariat, but not before Omniton also got beat down and lost all his components.  After that, La Capitan got eaten by Naturalist with Cornered Beast to end the threat. Everyone was in the 3-5 range. (Mint)

Yeah QuirkyDM... I um... let's say didn't take full advantage of the available options with fixed point whilst my opponents punched me really hard.

Mint.

Long and sloggy and Plague Rat and his handlers are SUPER not my friends, but the heroes prevailed.  The tide turned after Omnitron X got a pretty near full set up, and he and Argent Adept turned into healing machines.

Thanks to Fixed Point, Fixer had Jack Handle and Hoist Chain, Omnitron X had Exochassis and Temporal Shielding, and Naturalist had Rhino and Croc.

I did use Omnitron X's power on the Citizens on the first turn, so Bastion was destroyed before Fixed Point came out. I hate Bastion.

Fixer went down when he put Bloody Knuckles on, but he went down knowing that his sacrifice made victory possible. I focused on the Citizens first, and after they went down, Plague Rat was still near full HP, and had a zillion Handlers out. The heroes were very nervous. It didn't look good. However, thanks to the aforementioned Bloody Knuckles, it didn't take too long to clear the Handlers out, and once Plauge Rat was out of the fight, it was cake.

MVP was probably Naturalist for all of his tankiness. I think the amount of damage he redirected and reduced was just shy of one million.

Mr. Fixer 0HP, Omnitron X 12HP, Argent Adept 8HP, Naturalist 9HP.

I am sure I had a very different game than most, as I read the title/description as a warning, not as something to be prepared to take advantage of :P

First round I used AA's power on Naturalist and the environment and ended up discarding Fixed Point. Decided to keep out Atlantean Throne room for the vast majority of the game, turning it into a long slog as Mr. Fixer JackHandle-TigerClaw'd his way through the ranks, bolstered by AA and tanked by Naturalist/Omni. I let Plague Rat let loose a couple of times to deal more damage to the villains and things were close, but never really dangerous.

Our supreme OverLores dropped first, followed by La Capitan and Proliteriat in quick succession. Plague Rat kept getting heals by the handler but eventually brought him down, everyone around 5 hp.

I didn't manage to get any Mister Fixer shenanigans, since I wasn't sure when exactly Fixed Point would come out, and Omnitron's double plating wasn't as helpful as it could have been (and I never did get a third plating to use with Defensive Blast).  The double Formation didn't actually do much, either.  But Naturalist was amazing, of course.

Things did get a little dicey when La Comodora took a turn during the environment... then gave the environment a turn during that turn... which let Tendrils of Madness empower Plague Rat twice at the same time.  Thank goodness he had handlers.  But no hero ever dropped below 7 and there was plenty of healing to go around.  A fun mint.

Easy Mint with all heroes in the high teens. Mr. Fixer had 2 Pipe Wrenchs, Jack Handel, Hoist Chain, Monkey Fist, and Hamony. Natraulist had all 3 forms. Omnitron-X had double plating.

Wow.  I should think it was an easy mint with that setup.

Thanks to the warning that Fixed Point would show up early, I was ready and went nuts with giving extra draws and plays to Fixer and ended up getting Jack Handles, Dual Crowbars, and a Pipe Wrench in play early (as well as two platings for Omnitron and two forms for Naturalist).  Then I meditated to get Fixer his form that makes his damage irreducable and he went to town unloading insane amounts of damage to every target in the game.

Fixer with Jack Handle, Hoist Chain, Alternating Tiger Claw & Harmony FTW.

Ended with nobody below 9.

same, everyone in the mid teens or above thanks to Argent Adept and Omnitron healing. Naturalist tanked a lot and I left Atlantean Throne Room out to help mitigate Plague Rat, who was the only real threat.

Even for Shenanigans, I may have over-shenanigan'd.

I'm not sure precisely how I pulled it off - I think it was by giving Fixer an extra card draw and then top-decking him during the Fixed Point - but I managed to get the Jack Handle, Hoist Chain, and Dual Crowbars out on the guy, alongside the Tiger Claw and Harmony.

The result was that on his third turn, Mr. Fixer hit every baddie for 3, and then hit every baddie for 4, and in the process every bad guy took 2 points of reduction, plus the Atlantean throne, which meant that they couldn't hurt us at all. And then I got Inspiring Supertonic out, and that was the turn that we won the game because that was the round that Mr. Fixer hit everything on the board for 14 damage and killed everyone but Proletariat, who the Naturalist ended.

The game did not last long after that.

I always forget that Predator's Eye is a one-shot and not an ongoing that gets destroyed at the start of your turn.  I had Naturalist play it first round, planning to get two rounds out of it from Fixed Point, which obviously didn't work.  On the tabletop, I always place Predator's Eye next to its target as a reminder of the effect, which is probably where the misconception came from.

Dual JackWrenches for me!  Throw in Harmony and a Greased Monkey Fist, and Mr. Fixer cleaned up the board in short order.  Mint

Near Mint. It’s fair to say I did not pay enough attention to the blurb on this one... First round got pretty decimated without getting anything good out. Second time through I was much better prepared and got 2 tools and 2 forms. Everyone but Plague Rat got smacked around pretty fast and Plague Rat went down quickly afterwards.

I minted this when it came out despite not doing anything at all interesting with Fixed Point. I totally missed the possibility of having 2 copies of things like Mr. Fixer's tools and Naturalist's forms. Basically, I brute forced it.

Focused first on Hammer + Anvil because of Bastion, and then Plague Rat because of the tremendous amount of damage he was doing.
