Weekly One-Shot #250*: The Darkest Timeline

Maria Helena (Both of them? More?) is causing fractures in the space-time-quantum-jelly-ness! The heroes must stop her before time implodes like an overstuffed sandwich! Or something.

Advanced La Capitan (Destroy 1 ongoing/equipment per turn / First time she would be dealt damage each round, redirect it to highest HP non-villain) is in the Time Cataclysm, but an older and wiser La Comodora has recruited some Dark Watch to help stop her(self?). DW Nightmist, DW Harpy, and DW Expatirette have answered the call.

Good luck heroes!

Spoilers: Near Mint after a first game where I couldn't seem to keep the crew under control fast enough to not die. Nightmist even tanked for a lot of damage in Mist Form but it just delayed the loss. Second game, I used Astral Premonition to mess around with La Capitan's deck and alter the shuffles. This meant that much less dangerous cards came out throughout the game and the heroes won, though at low hp.

Harpy and Expatirette can turn into damage powerhouses, but its all plink damage. I couldn't seem to find a Figurehead to boost damage until way late, but its probably just a matter of getting the right shuffle with Comodora's base power. Harpy Hex + Direct Strike or an Unload with 4 guns, either with a damage boost means lots of damage. One way to get a boost is to get Temporal Rigging out and allow Expat to use her base power, then pew pew her next turn. Also, I actually could get some use out of Brig Teleporter since La Capitan has a lot of low hp minions.

Blundered my way into a Mint somehow. My last round, Crushing Hallway came out, and I said, oh, I don't have to discard anyone's hand, I've got some environment control in hand.

Fast forward to Expatriette's turn and I realize I did not have any environment control in hand. c.c I maybe could have dealt with it using Uncontrolled Flock, but I honestly don't know how to set that card up properly. No, I thought I had a Take Time or a Planar Banishment, and I was very wrong.

Thankfully, we got La Capitan down to 7 HP, so the Hallway took her out after Nightmist redirected the damage. :B Fun!

FYI it's Weekly One-Shot #250. Looks like there wasn't a thread for #249.

Huh, wonder how that happened and which one it was O.o . Anyway, I have updated the title.

Actually looks like the misnumbering goes back a few weeks and last week's wasn't missed after all. Someone posted Back to Basics as #241 but it was actually #242 (you can see Headline: Adrenaline is correctly #241).

No big deal, but looks like we're back on track now =)

Near Mint on this one. The first game, I let La Capitan get too many crew out. Second game was all about deck control.

Once I had Mabel down, La Commodora played Timeless Treasure. Then I made sure the other characters kept playing enough equipment and on-goings to ensure it wouldn't get destroyed. I used the extra card draws for herself, Nightmist, and whichever third character might need it.

Then Nightmist went hunting for Mistbound and once she'd gotten it, I used La Commodora's character ability to keep cycling it out of the trash. Dark Watch's character ability guaranteed she could draw it every time it was cycled back in. I did use Nightmist's Astral Premonition at times, but once I had the cycle with Mistbound, that was preferable. No cards from La Capitan beats picking her card.

Got a Mint, mostly because somehow La Capitan just played Walk the Plank over and over again, every time her deck got shuffled. She was half-dead by the time a second crew member actually popped up.
