Weekly One-Shot #69: K.N.Y.F.E. After Dark

It was fixed, but Spite's "mill five per power use" drug means that games quickly become divergent.

I did too, and never got any ammo. Got all 3 submachine guns though…

Even with fixed start, there is a lot in this setup that can change the way things play out. Whether you search out Pride or Prejudice first affects the RNG I’m sure. Likewise how/if Unity uses Flash Forge.
Nightmist can shuffle a trash into a deck at pretty much any time she wants. Wrecking Uppercut used at the right time, or not at all. The number of powers each hero uses (thus discarding 5 off the top.)
It’s a good go-round. I like it.

Mint by the skin of my teeth. Nightmist at 7 hp, everyone else incapacitated. Almost lost due to an unexpected True Form from the environment knocking me her down so that after the Villain turn she was at 1hp.

Mint, Nightmist at 20, everyone else incapped. KNYFE and Unity both did some good work, Expat didn't get to do a whole lot except use a Hastily Augmented Shotgun for 6 and keep cycling stuff into play so the others could stay set up. I never saw a single ammo card. Would have been nice to have Liquid N2 Rounds but I ended up not needing them.

Wrecking Uppercut helped me get to the flip faster, and once he flipped, I cut loose with two Overdo It powered KNYFE turns and one big Unity turn. Volatile Parts helped knock him down a bit as well. I chose order poorly on the last Apprentice Poisoner I saw, but it only cost me 1 HP on him and it didn't matter - Nightmist was over 20 when everyone else went down, and Spite was already down to 14, so the environment was all over him and not me.

I think I'll give this another whirl for laughs later to see if I can do a little better.

Minted.

bit of a tough fight, but i survived with everyone still alive. the Liquid Nitro rounds did help, but mostly it was use everyone to buffer and survive, and get every possible 'bot out as soon as possible. ALMOST got Spite down before he flipped, Turret Bot did amazingly at ticking Spite's armour off, to let the Raptors and Platform 'bots knock him around.

was a good and actually entertainning fight.

Yeah, fixed start just means the game's random seed is predetermined for setup purposes.  As soon as you shuffle a deck for any reason, that deck isn't fixed anymore.  I neither drew nor milled any ammo until after Spite flipped.

That’s not quite true. If two players take exactly the same actions, they will get the same result when they shuffle.
