What all is enhanced in Enhanced Edition?

I was just curious about changes in the Enhanced Edition. We know about scaling with H, hp tracking, errata, typos, and art for the environment cards. Aside from changes to specific cards like Chastise or Wrest the Mind, are there going to be any “balance”-like changes? For instance, increasing or decreasing damage of particular cards/powers? I know that many people believe that certain characters are too weak/strong, and while characters in this game obviously don’t NEED to balanced in the same way that say, an MMO does, I was curious if there might be any changes like this in the Enhanced Edition.

I might as well copy-and-paste my questions about the Enhanced Edition here from the other thread.

==================================
I will need more details on the Enhanced Second Edition before deciding.

  1. Will the card back of all the decks be updated?
  2. Will any existing art be updated?
  3. Will the new box hold just the base game plus 2 expansions? Will there be space for a third or fourth expansion?
  4. Will the storage solution be sleeve friendly?
  5. Will Young Legacy be re-released with thicker card stock? This is just for OCD me.
  6. What will the HP counters look like?
  7. Will there be damage count modifier counters? Damage type modifier counters?
  8. Will the pdf for existing first edition owners include the remastered environment decks with new art?

Thanks!

Hope to see some answers soon.

Both of these questions are answered in the first kickstarter update:

I doubt Young Legacy will be made with the thicker card since it is only a promo card and I don’t think promo cards are available forever.

I asked Paul about the Young Legacy reprint via kickstarter mail, and his response was “At this point, we do not have plans to reprint the Young Legacy card. It could happen some day, but not particularly soon.” So looks like a “no” for that one.

  1. Will the card back of all the decks be updated?
Not much if at all; that is up to Adam!

  2. Will any existing art be updated?
    Yes; quite a bit, actually.

  3. Will the new box hold just the base game plus 2 expansions? Will there be space for a third or fourth expansion?
Just core + 2 expansions for now. If we release more expansions, we will release additional storage options at that time

  4. Will the storage solution be sleeve friendly?
    Yes.

  5. Will Young Legacy be re-released with thicker card stock? This is just for OCD me.
    No.

  6. What will the HP counters look like?
    See Update #1 on Kickstarter!

  7. Will there be damage count modifier counters? Damage type modifier counters?
    Yes to both.

  8. Will the pdf for existing first edition owners include the remastered environment decks with new art?
    Yes.

To answer #1 conclusively, the current deck backs will not change. New villains will continue to have unique deck backs and hero deck backs will correspond to the expansions they’re in theme with.

Sounds great!

That begs the next question. Existing art will be updated quite a bit, oh my. This changes everything.

To give an example of what I originally meant. Fanatic and Tachyon are two heroes that I could see benefiting greatly from the introduction of irreducible damage. Sanctifying Strike in particular seems like it a prime target for it. While I admit Hypersonic Assault is probably fine as is, I could see having Accelerated Assault’s be irreducible.

And this is beyond just adding art where there currently isn’t any, as in the Environments? Currently existing hero/villain art will be changed?

Yes, it will. I’ve grown a lot as an artist in the past year, and as a result there are a lot of things I’m extremely unhappy with in first edition. Some of this involves re-doing entire cards, some just recoloring, some just minor tweaks, but I can say conclusively anything changed will be changed for the better.
