When will we be able to preorder again?

Seems kind of silly to run the preorders for only one month... But I really want to get those promo cards, so I plan to order before the game releases. I've been really looking forward to this, but I just now found out they did this pre-pre-order run (why? Why not just wait until you're ready to take preorders in full?).

Don't think there will be any other pre-orders. Since there wasn't a Kickstarter, GtG ran this pre-order as a special opportunity for the same length of time as a Kickstarter. They have to put a limit on the time of this special pre-order because they need to know how many of the promo cards to print. If you missed the opportunity to get these promo cards, you'll have an opportunity to get them at some upcoming conventions, you will probably be able to print them yourself eventually, and you will be able to get them as part of a collection of all promo cards that will be made available at some point after all of the Sentinels expansions are released in the next few years.

Are  any of those other options as ideal as being able to get the promos now? No, probably not, but there it is.

Well, how do I make sure they print my copies of the promos then? I've been waiting for this for a while, and it seems like a kick in the jaw to just spit on their fans like this, especially when it wasn't even announced on the official site.

Announced like this? https://greaterthangames.com/blog/2013/09/vengeance-preorder-begins-now

Yes, something like that would have been nice on the offical news page, instead of hidden there like it is.

EDIT: Also, why wasn't it announced via the mailing list?

It is on the official News page. If you click the News tab on the top, the announcement is the first thing you'll see.

No, it's not. I've hit Ctrl+F5 and even manually tried clearing my cache to make sure I wasn't missing anything. There is no mention of it.

http://sentinelsofthemultiverse.com/blog

"Sentinels of the Multiverse at Boardgaming.com!"

Then the next headline:

"Jack Vasel Memorial Fund Auction"

And then the one after that, no mention of Vengeance, it goes straight back to Shattered Timelines:

"Sentinels of the Multiverse: Shattered Timelines!"

No mention of Vengeance whatsoever, no news of its preorder, no news of when it might be available, no news of how to get the promo cards, no news of anything about it. Period.

They use the >G blog now. https://greaterthangames.com/blog

That doesn't change the fact… They should have at least announced on the official site that the official site was now defunct, they should have sent messages out via the mailing list, and the fact of the matter is, they ARE still updating the official site despite your claim, because they recently added the heroes for Vengeance: http://sentinelsofthemultiverse.com/multiverse

This is just poor service all around. I shouldn't have to be looking at twenty different spots for news about one thing. When I'm finding out faster on external sites than the official site, that's a problem with the site, and now the fans are being punished for it. All I'm asking is that they rectify their mistake.

I never said they weren't updating the official website.

The Greater than Games main site has been a little more convenient for communication since members and fans can actually post questions to Greater than Games directly through the forum, which is something that can not be done on the SOTM site. I'm sorry that happened to you dude, but for most of us, having news on the main site is more convenient and likely to be looked at than the SOTM site.

theres an awful temptation to feel like its some kind of personal attack when something cool happens and you don't find out about it until too late. And you've got some legitimate points about the news section on SoTM and the mailing list.

They allowed people to pre-order vengeance (with promo cards) through the shattered timelines kickstarter.  You opted not participate, which was either a conscious decision, or you hadn't come to the game at that point.  If its the latter, then I'm certainly not going to begrudge your desire to get in on the action.

They allowed people who could not participate in the kickstarter to pre-order vengeance for a month on this site (with promo cards), which they advertised through the forums, facebook, twitter, Board game geek and the GtG website- albeit the newer version that they switched to about a year ago.  I can understand your annoyance about the mailing list and SoTM news section, and hopefully it will be rectified soon.

You'll still have the chance to pick up vengeance in february (or whenever it comes out), with a minimal delay between when kickstarter backers/per-order backers get it, and when it becomes commercially available.  Indeed, they've pointed out that everyone will get their copies about the same time.

As for the promo cards, within a few days of release, high-res scans will become available on BGG for you to print, just like all the other promo cards.

If thats still not satisfactory, they are available at conventions, for the cost of playing a few games of Sentinels and getting Sentinel points to trade in.

If that isn't satisfactory, you could always ask (politely) on the forums if someone going to a convention could pick you up a copy of the Greatest Legacy and GI bunker promo card and mail it to you afterwards.  You might have to work out a trade, or just be persuasive and hope for someone on the forums to be awesome...and there are a lot of awesome people here who understand the lure of Promo cards, play a LOT of sentinels at conventions, and might be willing.

Just a heads up, if you are waiting for an official response from GtG, they currently at Essen, and they, probably, won't respond until they get back.

Nodnod. Thanks for the tip, I forgot about Essen… Not that I was actually aware they were there in the first place, though it's not much of a surprise. I sent them an e-Mail when I made this topic, but I wasn't expecting a fast response regardless- I realize they're still a rather small company, and that they are their own customer service, so I expect that I have to be patient for any response from them.

Also Braith, please don't think I'm ignoring your post; thank you for the detailed response, I'm a bit tired right now, and I'm waiting until I'm more awake and can give your post the full attention it deserves before responding to it in detail.

EDIT:

My appologies if I made it sound like I was under the delusion that this was some crazy conspiracy to exclude me personally, that certainly wasn't my intent.

Shattered Timelines was already out by time I got into Sentinels; I essentially bought the entire collection up to that point in May, though it was a joint purchase- I bought half of it, and my family bought the other half for my birthday at the end of June.

I don't use Facebook or Twitter; as for the forums, I usually got to BGG for forums, though admittedly most of my time on BGG lately has bee spent on the Descent boards. I haven't had many questions about SotM lately, just questions about Vengeance, which I figured I'd be able to find out via the mailing list anyways.

But will other preorders include the promo cards that have been teased at us for so long? I'd gladly preorder from Cool Stuff Inc. right now if it were guaranteed to have the preorder bonuses. Otherwise, I might as well wait until after Christmas and I've done all my Christmas shopping (which indeed was what I was hoping to do since

I've done this with the other promo cards (save for the villain cards, since they rereleased those with the Oversized Villain Card pack), but I was really looking forward to getting the real thing with these. It's something they've promised for so long, then they didn't make good on that promise save to a few people in private circles.

As much as I'd love to go to a convention, then I have to factor in things like airfare, the cost of the convention itself… It's not like these things are exactly common, and certainly not cheap either. It seems kind of outlandish for them to expect fans to have to go to specific locations at very specific dates to get a slim chance at getting them. Why not just include them with all preorders?

If that isn't satisfactory, you could always ask (politely) on the forums if someone going to a convention could pick you up a copy of the Greatest Legacy and GI bunker promo card and mail it to you afterwards.  You might have to work out a trade, or just be persuasive and hope for someone on the forums to be awesome…and there are a lot of awesome people here who understand the lure of Promo cards, play a LOT of sentinels at conventions, and might be willing.

But then I'd feel like they were making a sacrifice for me, which is something I generally try to avoid asking of random strangers. Friends I don't mind asking for gifts, but that's because I know that even if I'm not directly trading them something for it, I'll probably make it up to them some way in the future. Besides that, if party A wrongs party B, I feel it's wrong to punish party C who had no involvement in the matter.

Hi guys. I started playing sentinels early this year, and often check gtg main news page for news on vengeance. It is extremely frusterating to find out that there was a chance to pre-order it with some awesome promos, and I missed it. Information like that really should be visable on the news section on the main page. I love the game and have been having a blast playing it with friends, but in the future making important information easily visible could avoid having some sentinels fans feel like they lost out due to a lack of communication.

I just got an e-Mail response from them stating that they're reopening preorders for a short time, but you'll have to be quick about it: https://greaterthangames.com/content/vengeance-pre-orders-back-up-this-weekend-only

Glad to see the >G crew responding in typical fashion.

Why, >G? Why do you have to tempt me again with the preorder?

I'd convinced myself it was okay to wait until stores get Vengeance here in the UK and buy it then, since the preorder time had passed. And now I have to re-convince myself that I don't need the promos badly enough to warrant extra money on shipping.

Sigh. How dare you do this to me? ;)

Since I have no money at all this week, I have a one-day window (next Monday) to get in on this.  I'm very glad they extended it that far so that I would not be entirely screwed.

Have you been using your official promos yet? Feel the awesomeness they hold? You know you want Greatest Legacy and GI Bunker's promos as well.
