Possibly, depending on one’s definitions. Fashion did travel through time, but simply in the same forward direction that we all do. She just got here somewhat slower 'cause of the space time dilation.
Not including Fashion would lead to a player revolt, IMHO. I might have to take extreme measures like a strongly worded letter! Hmmmph!
Makes me wonder what The Angry Taxpayer and other writers might say about it.
Really though… I think they said she existed all the way back to early Enhanced Edition or before. That’s way longer than Alpha or Darkstrife & Painstake. I’m pretty sure they’ve indicated she’s out of the Bloodsworn Colosseum by OblivAeon time at the latest, since the other gladiators help in that fight. I know her book isn’t revived until the Sentinel Comics Universe, but I think she still has a place in the Multiverse era.
Those people who are sticklers for timelines and issue dates, when do her stories with the Celestial Codex and Greaser teamup take place? I think those were Cosmic Tales and not the Fashion book, but they are before the end of the Multiverse, correct?
In TLP episode 167 the issue is about Fashion and is from 2013. This occurs 3 years before OblivAeon and happens before we get Stuntman later that same year.
If I had to guess, then, Fashion will take the place of Harpy (and possibly La Commodora) in the Oblivaeon set as one of the last-minute heroes.
The other possibility would be to have the Rambler appear as the sixth hero in this set; he’s made it into cards already, and C&A were designing some of his stories last year when they would have been laying the groundwork for Disparation.
edit Fashion escapes from the Bloodsworn Coliseum in 2013, and the Celestial Codex story was later that year. She pops up a few more times between 2013 and Oblivaeon in 2016, but doesn’t headline her own book. So there is room for her to get a deck, but it does seem like we wouldn’t see that deck until Oblivaeon.
Looks like the update schedule on Backerkit shows 1 new hero, 3 new villains, and 1 new environment.
AAAAHHH!!!
What’s this, variants in the video?! Heroic Galactra for Captain Cosmic, Boldest Legacy, and Ashen Heir Virtuoso?! And Principles, which sounds like it could be putting an Event type card behind a hero to modify them?! Can’t wait for the whole rat to be iced up!
Right? The Ashen Heir looked like it was specifically merging the Nightmist and Argent Adept decks. I like that idea. Yes, could be complicated… but the idea is that they would be complicated.
I also recall that A&C originally wanted Captain Cosmic to have Infinitor’s “Manifestation” keyword with a variant. Sounds like the Principles is a way they could do that, if the merge could be with villain decks, too. That could be… really interesting.
Aha! Thanks for pointing out that there are more deets visible in the video!
- It’s not just Galactra, it’s Inversiverse Galactra! Implies we may see other Inversiverse things, or other named-verse things.
- The Block is the top Environment deck.
- Visionary has a “Dark” side deck.
Don’t forget the “extreme” bit. Or should I say “XTREME!”
If you want a list of deets things that myself or other people noticed:
Villains:
Apostate (from Adam’s art streams)
Dreamer (she’s in several bits of the card arts seen)
La Capitan
Miss Information (“Administrative Assistant” shows in the trailer video)
Necrosis (From Letters Page Episode 190: In the KS main pic there’s a villain deck where [-osis] is readily visible in the glitches)
Environments:
Aeternus (If you zoom in on one of the pans in the trailer you can see a tiny title bit on one of the decks that starts with “A”)
The Block (The purple square back, plus seeing Free Radical as the update to the Time Crazed Prisoner art)
Final Wasteland (Can see title bit on the back, plus Chrono-Ranger riding the worm)
Silver Gulch (One of the backs, plus Legacy lifting the Explosive Wagon)
Tomb of Anubis (Adam drew Anubis in one of his art streams)
It’s kinda interesting how the term Principle has migrated over from the RPG to SotM. There’s no knowing how similar they’ll be to SCRPG Principles, of course.
Really? What variant of Captain Cosmic? Requital wouldn’t really make sense as Nigel was dead by then (I think), so there’d be no reason for it to interact with him.
Cue the Star Wars jokes.
What the Forbush does Necrosis have to do with Disparation? (Or magic stuff, for that matter.)
I wanted Materio (Inverseverse Nigel), but we got Galactra instead.
Necrosis came about from decisions Naturalist made in the main timeline after consulting with the Oracle of Discord.
It could be another villain we haven’t encountered yet that ends in [-sis] (as I don’t think we have any others that end that way?), but poor Benji is actually connected to Disparation.
If they’re filling out other variants for the core set heroes who didn’t get one in RCR, my vote goes to Frostbite Absolute Zero as the reluctant “hero” of Vampire World.
I thought it was Requital, to represent him taking on his brother’s mask and power. But it was a while ago.
Isis? I think the Ennead are confirmed to be in this set, although I wonder what size character cards they’ll have?
You’ll note that June 2022 was “Disparation Month” for The Letters Page, which featured stories about three disparate heroes: Galactra Cosmic, Boldest Legacy, and Frostbite. The former two have been confirmed, so the latter one doesn’t seem too unlikely.
Now that La Capitan’s Nemesis is no longer the SW Sentinels, who do y’all think the Sentinels’ Nemesis will be? Quetzalcoatl? Someone related to Fort Adamant? Chokepoint? Night-Snake? None of those seem like very good candidates…

No it wouldn’t be the Ennead, fwiw, as the lettering I was referring to is visible on the back of one of the villain decks, not in the character card area.

New Villain would be my guess. Or Chokepoint. Unless they decide to do something with Dr Nolan.

It’s a fascinating question. We know that there were only 36 issues of Southwest Sentinels before they got transformed into the Void Guard, and we know the broad strokes of almost everything that happened in that time. It doesn’t feel like there’s room for a new major nemesis to appear. Hell, aside from La Capitan and Quetzacoatl, I’m not clear that there are any villains that they even fought a second time.

Right? The overly short SW Sentinels run after they nailed down the timeline makes me think that the group is going to have a smaller footprint in DE (a bit like how Visionary wasn’t in the core set). As I’ve said elsewhere (either in this threat or another), I wouldn’t be surprised if SWS and Void Guard get mashed into the same deck(s) and released as an Oblivaeon nemesis.
