DE Disparation: Guessing time! (Ha ha, time travel pun)

Nolan seems pretty unlikely to me; the Sentinels have literally never met him. If anything, I think Antimox would be a Mini-Nemesis for Young Legacy. (Assuming that Mini-Nemesis will be in DE. I sure hope they will, though; they really added a lot a flavour and expanded the setting.)

JUDGE MENTAL is a possibility. (Note that Captain Comic’s never really fought him—sure, Hugh Lowsley has, but that’s not the same thing.)

Let’s see, who else have the SWS fought? There was the Organization that one time, and the Slaughterhouse Six, and the Bloodsworn Gladiators, but none of them really fit.

Also, none of the new Villains thus far were previously Mini-Nemeses that were upgraded to full-deck status, so it seems somewhat unlikely that Quetzalcoatl or Judge Mental will get that treatment.

Also also, I know that this isn’t anything new, but I never noticed this line from Miss Info’s bio before:

“Hiccups?” Mr. Parsons asked in his usual, genial manner. She felt her stomach churn - how did she ever find that phony charisma so charming?

Additionally, it looks like Miss Info is (maybe?) the first character to get a noticeable costume redesign.

Looks like, though Gloomweaver’s stuff felt different, what with the statue and stuff. Thought the bit about her being a hero target on the first side was a nice touch.

I think Visionary’s change was fairly noticeable in her appearances thus far.

If it was going to be a mini-nemesis upgrade, my money would be on the Crackerjack Crew; they’re the only ones that are confirmed to have been recurring opposition. But my understanding is that they were always pushovers, never big battles.

Right. My understanding is that they only became a serious threat in the RPG Era once Drudge got them organised.

Regarding costume changes, La Capitan’s coat is now no longer buttoned, Chrono-Ranger has a different under-shirt, and Parse’s getup is pretty different. Omnitron-X’s clothes are exactly the same, though.

I’m really liking Parse’s new logo, what with the pixelation and li’l arrow. Also, it looks like the DeathCon on “Exploit Vulnerability” is wholly robotic, compared to the other, cyborg one we’re familiar with. Furthermore, did we know about Hangman? (Who’s alluded to by Setback on “Syntactic Analysis.”) Also, I like Setback’s clumsy attempt on that card to show that he can analyse things too.

Hangman popped up back in the Wraith villains episode in 2019; he was one of the minor villains they designed, and then I don’t know if he’s ever been mentioned again.

His shtick was initially that he was the Vigilante Who Thinks The Wraith Isn’t Brutal Enough; I’m curious what possibly got him working with other villains instead of trying to murder them.

Ennead reveal! Awesome! Icons need another touch up. “Hand” looks like “Isis’ Magic Wand™”, not so awesome.

I notice that Atum’s EE spandex was replaced by a more Egyptian getup, while Tefnut’s plain brown outfit was upgraded to something more ornate. Plus she now has blue hair, which I suppose fits with her watery nature.

It’s cool how the relics’ HP are all 9; nice use of Arc Number.

Also, The Crook & Flail of Osiris’s END PHASE effect is really nifty for anyone who knows his most famous story, in which he dies and is resurrected.

always been a big fan of the Ennead, and not only do we get to have their Relics as cards, I’m liking the way they’re set up as well! not to mention “activate X effects” is way nicer than “oops you discarded the top card of the villain deck, time for damage, idiot!

Yeah, trigger on trash for any reason was pretty harsh. I’m just hoping there’s not an updated member with [symbol] Play the top card of the villain deck. You could end up going through a quarter of the deck at once if it was stacked against you! :scream:

So, I’m starting to wonder if we are getting Rambler. He’s showing up in art, he’s getting flavor text quotes. Which is more than can be said for the siblings.

I dunno. I think a dearth of Darkstrife & Painstake info means they’re just holding back before a big reveal. Someone pointed out it looks like two cards together blurred out in one image. And the latest podcast episode kinda drives home the point that Rambler is not very heroic, at best the most antihero of them all.

It’s cool that Anubis’s HP got bumped up to rival that of Heroes. Also, I agree with Christopher that FWASSH is great.

Speaking of which, what is Rambler’s relationship to Urshe? Do they have some kind of bargain?

As for the potential of Rambler getting a Hero deck, I’m fairly certain that C&A have explicitly said that he’s really a neutral third-party, neither a hero nor a villain, and so will not be getting a hero deck. (Although I do not remember where they said this, so…)

Also remember that C&A can and do select their previews to avoid anything they want to keep secret longer; they did as much with Alpha references during the Rook City leadups.

They did explicitly say that Rambler technically falls into the category of “heroes” despite not always acting like one. And they did go into an awful lot of detail in this episode about how he fights. The way he was able to bind a demon and stick it to the floor, and then later call upon beings he’d extracted bargains from in the past… there’s definitely the makings of a deck there.

They definitely have not said he’s not getting a deck.

I don’t even remember when they introduced Rambler or almost anything else about him, but after the latest podcast I feel like anyone who gives a Spite-in-a-box to Gloomweaver falls squarely in the “villain” camp…

As much as I’ve said I want Rambler to get a deck, my bet has been on the Soul Twins ever since WalkingTarget pointed out to me that during one of the panning shots in the trailer you can see an environment title that looks like it starts with “A”.

I very well could be mistaken; my memory of the statement I’m referencing is admittedly somewhat fuzzy.

Also, there is the possibility of both DS&PS and Rambler getting DE decks; both of them won’t be in Disparation, of course, but whoever we don’t get in this box could appear in a future set, as there are still three of those, and not many other candidates (that we know of) for new Hero decks, besides Fashion (who I still think will be solely restricted to the RPG).

Another piece of evidence in favour of the Demon Twins is that—correct me if I’m wrong—they have been confirmed to have had some miniserieses during the Multiverse Era and an ongoing book Post-OblivAeon, whereas Rambler hasn’t had any dedicated books.

Reminds me of a talking to a friend years ago… specifically about Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the character of Giles. At the time, this was just after the “Glory” arc, and the friend described Giles as “FOR the good, but NOT a good guy.” Remember that, so many years later. Rambler brought that out of the deep storage, as it were.

Seems the only reason Rambler, after that story, isn’t a full-on villain is because Spite’s body count during the Agent of Gloom and Rotting God stories was low because the arc was shortened due to Oblivaeon. Not really sure I would want that dude as a deck. Would be like the CrackJaw Crew getting a hero deck during Oblivaeon.

Iron Legacy. Interesting flip mechanic, with Onmitron-like “if X damage is delt, Y happens” thing. Guess the flip side will be some kind of brief breakdown where he’s more vulnerable, but doing more damage.
