I don't know about anyone else, but I'm going to need a lot of help remembering specific questions from specific episodes. I have a candidate for "saddest," but the others are hard. "Funniest" is hard because the jokes usually aren't closely tied to the episode contents. "Most revealing" is hard because the revealing ones are the ones where C&A go off on huge tangents to the point where you don't even remember what the question was, plus often they'll skip something in the overview just because someone asked a question about it and they would have said the same stuff anyway. I tend not to pay attention to fan theories.
Like they say in the episode, reading WalkingTarget's summaries on the wiki should give enough of a memory jog to know which bits of the episodes to relisten to make sure you got the specific details.
My "Worst Episode" nomination goes to tinysode 1. On one hand, I'm glad that they limited the nominations to just this year's episodes because I have way too many favorites from 2017, (not that I don't have favorites from this year as well). On the other hand, though there are a few episodes outside of 2018 that I feel are definitely deserving of Letters Page awards. *cough cosmic contest or mainstay stuntman blow by blow cough*.
I have some ideas, but I don't have time to go looking through every episode for them. I don't suppose someone could help me?
In the shipping episode, who asked the question that led to the "KNYFE has dlne it with Haka, Tempest, etc." list?
I also need all the info for the question (i think in the ObliVAeon Editor's Note) that basically just described in exact detail why the timeline split worked.
I haven't decided on one for the funniest, and I'll probably skip saddest.
And I’m free to exclude them from what I chose. I never said you couldn’t vote for them I just don’t feel they should count since they are outside of the norm.
But Christopher and Adam have had some dumb ideas. It's okay, it's fine, everyone does, it's not a big deal. But I swear 90% of them are related to this podcast. <.< An awards show just seems like a bad idea to me. I mean, they've made it not entirely about them... but it's still half self-congratulating. And they even said no one asked for it.
Maybe I'm just grousing because I sure as hell don't have 200 hours, as they said, to refresh myself on episodes. I'll go try the wiki and see if that helps, but I'm not looking forward to an episode dedicated to this. :/
Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer for my questions about ley lines to be answered. I wonder if I did anything wrong with asking them or if something with the comuter got messed up.
WalkingTarget’s summaries are great for facts, but for the most part they don’t cover the questions themselves. When they do include the questions, they’re boiled down to the bare amount of information you need to understand the answer. Any jokes or flavor are almost always left out. Incorrect fan theories do usually make it in, but going through over 50 episodes to find them is a lot, and I don’t remember many.
Anyone remember when the Cult of Gruum wrote in? That was certainly one of my favorites.
Edit: Oh, man, I didn’t realize how limiting 2018 really is. No Guise, no Southwest Sentinels, no Ambuscade.
Just for my question-writing convenience, is there a list anywhere of all the mission-reward heroes? The only ones I can remember names for off the top of my head are Seraph (obvs), Everyman and the Chronoist.
El Mejor Legado, the russian dire Powered Absolute Zero, Cold War, the kind of fusion between Legacy and Setback, Cursor, Windwalker, Arataki, Citizen Tempest, and I think that’s all
The closest is the Mission Deck listing: https://sentinelswiki.com/index.php?title=OblivAeon/MissionDeck
Heroes
Cold War
Citizen Storm
Arataki
Lucky Break
Seraph
Omni-Unity
Cursor
El Mejor Legado
The Everyman
The Chronoist
Villains
Hellion
The Red Menace
There's also a few people on Be the Gate who don't show up in the actual Mission Deck. There's a good-aligned Akash (though I'm guessing that's probably the Inversiverse one), Wind Walker, what seems to be a good-aligned Ermine, and a Sky-Scraper dressed like Tempest and wielding what seems to be lightning. (The others are Seraph, Lucky Break, and Cursor.) I dunno yet if they'll also be covered in the episode or not.
I think it’s more that on the Discord servers and Twitch people talking about what episodes they found best or most recommended or funniest or so on was already a semi-regular topic anyway, so I don’t see an issue with formalizing what people already did anyway. It also seems like a fun way to encourage viewer interaction and have some kind of “end of year” celebration thing.
On a lighter note: I checked with Christopher and he does consider the Be the Gate heroes not already in the Mission Deck to also be fair game.
