Episode #39 - Oh Captain, My Captain!

Lots of people eager to try out their new shiny cards?  Here's an opportunity!  And if it's popular I'll start Ep 39 B as well to get five more people some playing time.

Heroes:

Guise (RanisTheSlayer)

Captain Cosmic (cmschex)

Prime Warden Tempest (phantaskippy)

Sky-Scraper (platinumwarlock)

Scholar (Medic-Tank)

Villain:

Citizen Dawn (advanced)

Environment:

Time Cataclysm

Changed my mind, I'm going PW Tempest.

Have to pass until next week.

Captain Cosmic, please

I'll take the scholar WotC not in yet :(

Chalk me up for Skyscraper!

I'd be up for maybe joining a 39B game (as this is full and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the BF format) for my first PBF if my partner doesn't mind me leaving a deck of cards around our pokey little flat. Regardless, I'll be reading this one with great interest as WCos hasn't arrived for me yet and won't for a while because of the Atlantic Ocean.

Dang, I saw this too late and missed out. Poo.

I think Guise is still available

If Ranis doesn't take a look again and realize Guise is available I'll take Guise.  Or join in to a 39B game.

Oh, Guise is available? I thought Oaktree took him. I'm in!

I am up for a B game, I just have the WotC No mini-expansions, but now that spiff but up the promos can play those now too

Will hold 39B slots for:

slaaneshi611
Ario
dshields

First turn will be up shortly.

Comments:

Let the carnage begin.  And each player needs to discard a card.

Guise drops his phone. It's a camera too. Don't judge.

"Hey guys, can I join in? No? Aww, c'mon! I'm gonna be a thousand times more helpful than that guy whose superpower is holding a MacGuffin!"
Guise flexes. Yes, it's totally cool.

Guise

HP:  20

Hand:  Total Beefcake, Gritty Reboot, Selling Out, Say Cheese!

In Play: --

Trash: ---------------------------

Start of Turn: Guise discards Say Cheese! because Citizen Tears is a poopyhead.

Play a Card:  Total Beefcake. Who would want to hurt such beauty?

Use a Power:  Tough Choices....which to choose? I'll draw a card! Yay, the Best Card Ever! And punch Anvil for...nothing? Aww, that's lame! [1-1] 0 damage! The worst kind!

Draw a Card:  Uh, Yeah, I'm That Guy!

End of Turn: ---------------------------

HP:  20

Hand:  Uh, Yeah, I'm That Guy!, Best Card Ever!, Gritty Reboot, Selling Out

In Play: Total Beefcake

Trash:  Say Cheese!

Effects:  The first time Guise would be dealt damage each turn, redirect that damage to the non-hero target with the lowest HP.

Comments:

So what's the plan here, folks? Are we going to try to kill Dawn without flipping her?

Captain Cosmic

HP:  20

Hand:  Energy Bracers, Wounding Buffer, Autonomous Blade, Harsh Offense

In Play:

Trash:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Start of Turn: Discard Wounding Buffer.

Play a Card:  Harsh Offense - Reveal Cosmic Weapon, Potent Disruption, Autonomous Blade - deal 4-1 energy damage to Anvil (4)

Use a Power:  Fabrication - Reveal Cosmic Weapon, put into play next to Tempest

Draw a Card:  Sustained Influence

End of Turn:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HP:  20

Hand:  Autonomous Blade, Energy Bracers, Sustained Influence

In Play: Cosmic Weapon (next to Tempest)

Trash:  Wounding Buffer, Cosmic Weapon, Harsh Offense, Autonomous Blade, Potent Disruption

Effects:

Discard Otherworldly Resilience for Citizen Jerk Face.  With our opening selection of options we might not be able to play the no flip game, as we don't have damage negation or card draw to counter the citizens in play.

Thank you Hugh my friend, this blade Is a quality weapon.

TEMPEST

HP:  20

Hand:  Chain Lightning, Otherworldly Resilience, Shielding Winds

In Play:

Trash:  Otherworldly Resilience

-------------------------

Start of Turn:

Play a Card:  Chain Lightning, Deal Citizen Tears (4-1) 3 Lightning damage [2], Citizen Anvil (3-1) 2 Lightning damage [2], Citizen Hammer (2-1) 1 Lightning damage [2]

Use a Power:  Cosmic Weapon, Deal Anvil (3-1) 2 Energy Damage [X]

Draw a Card:  Electrical Storm

End of Turn:

-------------------------

HP:  20

Hand:  Electrical Storm, Otherworldly Resilience, Shielding Winds

In Play:

Trash:  Chain Lightning, Otherwordly Resilience

Effects:

If SS can get to Huge we should be able to clear Hammer Anvil and Tears at least before Dawn's next turn

Well, Tempest took out Anvil, which was really great for us. I was hoping he had a Chain Lightning or Lightning Slash in his hand.

Don't forget that if you do an effect that has extra targets on your turn to include me so I can redirect it to one of the citizens.

Ah right, so we can leave up Hammer since we can kill him with Winter or his own redirect damage, so if we can take out Tears we can actualyl keep our cards
