Fugue State Parse Unlock

Does anyone have a good strategy to achieve the unlock? I've tried several times so far, but something always pops up and screws up the end or I get obliterated before I can get Progeny down to 1.

I'll keep in mind Dark Visionary and Unhallowed Halls, but is there anything else you folks would suggest?

Any help is appreciated.

I used Argent Adept, F6 Tachyon, Dark Visionary, Parse and Grangpa Legacy in Freedom Tower.

I was going for the Twist the Ether - Next Evolution - Lead From the Front setup, but I never got Next Evolution.

Between Visionary and Parse I had so much deck control that I was using it on Freedom Tower as well.

I was able to keep the Cryochamber out of play and nothing in the environment does damage itself.

Lead From the Front would keep Parse from getting damaged when I didn't want her to.

Then once everything was set up, I had the heroes (mainly Tachyon beat up on Parse before striking the finishing blow on Progeny)

Hope that helps some.

I used Legacy, Parse, Dark Visionary, AA, and Team Leader Tachyon if I recall correctly. They have deck control coming out their ears, and enough ongoing destruction to completely nullify Progeny’s ongoings, while Legacy can tank all the damage. I fought is Magmaria, which does more damage than I realized, but was still manageable. Used Progeny’s ongoings to get rid of his Scion cards, and then prevented new Scions from ever coming out.

If you want to completely nullify the environment, grab Court of Blood and the Naturalist, and sit tight in gazelle form.

My team was Prime Wardens Argent Adept, Parse, Dark Visionary, Hunted Naturalist, and Greatest Legacy. The Adept was there for ongoing destruction, card plays, card draws, and power usages; Parse was there because I needed her, but also to make sure via “Extrasensory Awareness” Progeny didn’t play any card I didn’t want him to; Dark Visionary was there to manipulate whichever deck had the effect I most needed next; Naturalist was there to provide immunity to vampires via “Environmental Allies;” Legacy was there to divert damage when necessary (though that never ended up happening) and to give the Adept more powers.

I got lucky with my starting hands. The Adept started with a copy of “Sarabande of Destruction” and “Instrumental Conjuration” to be able to make use of it; Parse started out “Extrasensory Perception.” This allowed me to make sure Progeny played useless ongoing cards more than anything, and never played a card that destroyed any of my heroes’ cards. Dark Visionary was the one whose turns took the most thought, choosing between manipulating the Court of Blood or doing whatever I could to get first “Environmental Allies” out, then “Twist the Ether” (the Court of Blood mostly wasn’t worth manipulating because you know “Unhallowed Halls” will come out pretty soon). The Hunted Naturalist was probably the MVP, because repeated use of “Indomitable Force” kept Progeny from flipping.

All in all, the most important cards to get in play are “Twist the Ether,” “Unhallowed Halls,” “Environmental Allies,” and “Extrasensory Awareness,” in that order. They will guarantee neither the villain nor the environment can do damage to anyone, leaving you time to get Parse’s cards into play and to beat her up carefully, as to knock her down to that final HP.

I did Adamant Sentinels, Team Leader Tachyon, Chrono Ranger, Wraith and Parse.  T.K. Thump, Neuro Toxin Dart Thrower and Stun Bolt means Progeny does no damage, especially with Smoke Bombs and you can keep him flipped safely.  Parse controls the deck so you don't lose your stuff.  Temporal Grenade can handle the Hour of Reckoning.  Team Leader Tachyon gives everyone the right cards and extra for Scion of Blight.

I played in Freedom Tower. Cryro Chamber did more damage to the heroes than Progeny.

Along with Dark Vis, for deck control and TTE, and Ra, for Flesh of the Sun God, I brought PW Argent Adept to help Parse set up faster. The first time through, I found I was easily killing Progeny (Chrono-Ranger and KNYFE will tear him apart), and not getting nearly enough ongoings out, especially after a wipe!

Thanks for all the strategies, guys! After reading all of them, I decided to use of JimB's plan since it has the best lock-down effects on Projeny(with Enviromental Allies and Unhallowed Halls, and with Twist the Ether on Ol' Crome Dome, Projeny couldn't do squat). And here's proof of my victory with you guy's help! Thanks again!

Late to the suggestions, but I wanted to chime in with a different route that I took.

My team was Parse, Grandpa Legacy, TLT, Wraith, & Scholar and my focus was on getting extra draws and arming my heroes with all of the damage nullifying one-shots/ongoings. Once I got it going, one of my heroes was usually able to prevent all of Progeny's damage pretty much every turn (with Legacy and Scholar tanking on the other turns)

Got her. I used Kratos strategy. Took me twice, because I had Caliginous Form in play and Progeny offed himself a round too early.

I used legacy, f6 tach, parse, scholar and hunted naturalist. In magmaria. Tach and scholar went back and forth with shutting off damage (hypersonic and offensive trans.) and naturalist kept the magmaria from doing damage in gazelle. Some of the mag crystals were backups to keep parse alive when I went to get her down to 1hp, and motivational charge kept everyone above 10hp to keep him from flipping. (not that scholar and nat had much trouble)

Once he was below 20 hp, and I had the ongoing, I went into action. Scholar hadn’t been keeping forms out because nat had more than enough damage to keep him down, so on the last turn I got parse to 1 and blew up progeny with 26 cards to his big hit (including several mag crystals)

Took a long time because I didn’t have any extra plays for parse, but that was ok

Oh. And of course, extrasensory awareness is beast mode on controlling villain decks.

Very slow/drawn out build up - but strategy a friend an I came up with.

Dark Visionary, Haka (now thinking I should have used PW Haka if I had had him unlocked), Parse (in that order) on Wagner.

Beat a bit up on Progeny, and let him beat someone down until he flips - just don't let Parse fall below 3 hp.

Use Visionary's power as well as Prophetic Vision to get Meteor Storm into play.

After that - use Visionary, Precognition and Parse's Extrasensory Perception (if you have it out) to lock down Progeny (Top priority is to keep Beginning of the End from coming out, secondary would be to keep Scion of Storm from coming out so that Progeny doesn't get to play an unknown card that could pull out Beginning of the End).  All of this is just to keep Meteor Storm in play as you set up.

Then it's all about grinding until you are set up.

1.  Get the 10 ongoings out for Parse (hopefully including multiple Critical Multipliers)

2.  Get Haka a couple of Dominions out to keep his hand size up.

3.  Power up Parse's next damage with Critical Multipliers (discarding cards to destroy other Wagner environments as they come up, using Snap Decision, etc).  If using PW Haka, can also use Haka of Battle on Parse.  The goal is to get Parse's next damage to the point that you can one-shot Progeny.

When you are ready -

Dark Visionary skips her turn to destroy Meteor.

Haka uses a Haka of Battle on himself if necessary so that he can attack Parse for exactly the right amount of damage to put her at 1 hp.  This is why you need her at a minimum of 3 - since Mere (or base Haka's built-in) can do a minimum of 2 damage.

Parse then kills Progeny.

Unlock.
