GenCon 2016

Of course! The question is, are you?

There has never been a point in my life where I haven't been ready for a road trip.

You all are awesome! I am way excited about Gen Con and am crazy busy scheduling events right now! We will have a big room for demos like last year as well as a big booth! Oh my goodness are we going to have a lot of exciting stuff at Gen Con! Definitely email Craig about volunteering! I love exclamation points!

I will be there and I am crazy excited! Would love to volunteer if GTG needs people. I already have a badge, so that's not a big deal (really, i want a Play! Power! Draw! tshirt...)

Looks like I am going to finally make it to GenCon this year!! I am not sure if I'll be able to volunteer this time around (so much to see!!!) but I will definitely be swinging by the GtG booth and I'm looking forward to meeting some forumites and getting some games in!!

Look forward to meeting you

Likewise!

Is there usually a lot of stuff on Sunday? Trying to figure out when to fly back to LA

Hard to answer. There's certainly a lot of gaming you could do and sometimes there are good deals to be had in the exhibit hall as vendors try to clear out stock, but after three (or more!) days of gaming/partying, there may not be a lot more for you to do that you haven't already done.

GtGs will still need volunteers that day. If you're in a tournament, it may be hitting the finals that day. Your favorite game may only be scheduled that day. It may be the only timeslot you can get into True Dungeon.

Alright. I'll just fly back Monday. Not sure how often I'll be able to go to GenCon, so might as well have the "full" experience that day.

Maybe that's the day I'll be able to volunteer at the GtG booth!

It's worth noting that the day ends early on Sunday. There won't be events after the exhibit hall closes, although GtG will appreciate help doing the teardown.

I cant afford the hotel room so I cant go. :(

So 12 weeks until GenCon!! (Not excited at all)

Is there any pre-con fan meet ups prior to the event. Just trying to book my Chicago to Indy train/bus and figuring out if I should get there earlyish or just arrive at midnight on Wednesday the 3rd.

If you volunteer, there’s a pre-con dinner.

I probably won't know until that week whether I'll be coming from Chicago or elsewhere. Sorry. I'm sure that doesn't help your planning much.

Ronway, but only if he has Siege Breaker body painted

Hey I'll also be at GenCon!

I'd love to meet other RL players to play some RL pickup games - where will people generally be congregating for that?

Also, it looks like the Sentinels RPG demo events at GenCon are all signed-up-for; I know the >GtG people have plenty on their plate as is, but is there any chance of some overflow events for this?  I'd like to scope one of these out!

This. Same with the Obliveon demo.

The OblivAeon demos are still wide open all over the place, as far as I can see.

But I'm salty as hell about the SC RPG demos all being gone-- for GMs and for players and even char creation! Maddening. I hope people who signed up for those at least report events, or volunteers can sneak peeks or something.

Can't wait for GenCon though!

It's interesting what went quickly and what didn't. The RPG demos and Spirit Island all were snapped up the first day (first hour, even), but OblivAeon didn't, despite the tremendously successful Kickstarter. I guess people who were enthusiastic about OblivAeon already have some idea what they're getting in to.
