Writer’s Room: Non-canonical/Retconned Future Story

Ok, so since this game first came out we’ve all been wondering about far, far future stuff for the Multiverse. Things like “Legacy one-million” or the possible descendants of our beloved heroes and villains. Christopher and Adam stated a couple episodes ago that they do have plans internally for these, but it will take quite awhile to get around to them (I don’t think we’ll see any of it until the sandwich bag pops in the RPG, and who knows how many books that will take).

We’ve also already seen some retconned future stuff, like “canon” Legacy’s future death described in Iron Legacy’s bio. So maybe we could have a story similar to the Silver Gulch events, a one-off from the 60s/70s before the mechanics of time travel and alternate universes were solidified.

Alternatively, if that wouldn’t be satisfying or would give away too much, there could also be “Writer’s Room: Future-themed Disparation” with retro-futuristic versions of the present characters, but I think the Xtremeverse already covers some of that ground.

Thought about asking for the Freedom Five space mission when they all got Bunker suits…

  • Creative Process or Writers’ Room (Depending upon how much C&A have already created): The “Heroes of Yesterday”*

*As seen on the banner in the big art at the beggining of the Archives in the SCRPG Core Rulebook.

I requested “Heroes of Yesterday: The International Half” a while back but it didn’t get up for a vote. Was planning on suggesting that or just “Heroes of Yesterday” again at some point.

Writer’s Room Request: Freedom Five #666, which is apparently an October Issue during the Miss Information era. What plot did she pull off?!

That’s pretty much up to the writers in the Metaverse if they’re even going to acknowledge Issue 666 as something significant. I guess if you were gonna run with that theme, you could have “Apostate” show up to harass the Freedom Five, only to later reveal that the Deceiver was someone else’s deception.

Separate from that, you could even go deeper (Inception?.. Deception!) and stack up the villains that often use misdirection (Miss Direction, I have to assume, being a Disparation alternate hero/villain) - the plot was all a machination of Glamour, no wait - Apostate - no, Biomancer - uh, I mean… Miss Information?! :face_with_raised_eyebrow::interrobang:

They revealed this stretch of Freedom Five was solidly in the middle of a two-year long Miss Information arc. I’m not saying they specifically did something with it, but it is the October issue, it’s #666, and Miss Information has been screwing with them for a year at this point. Odds are it was at least discussed in the Metaverse.

Now that DE is in many people’s hands, here are some topic ideas based on the new content.

  • Wayward Sun Event
  • A Murder Most Fowl Critical Event
  • Earth Inc. Critical Event
  • Gene-Doctor Kronz and the Thorathian Gene-Binding Journal
  • A Writer’s Room for any of the Issues on the 1st Appearance Cards. (I’d like to see Mystery Comics #27 aka Wraith’s 1st Appearance or Cosmic Tales #232 aka Tachyon’s notable defeat)

These topics are probably a bit obvious, but it’s good to state them anyway.

My copy just showed up today! About to open it up right after this post.

I really want to know the story behind #3, considering it’s something that they’ve never even mentioned before.

If by #3 you mean Earth Inc., I’m pretty sure that was a story about Akash’Bhuta being plugged into by machinery from some evil corporation, and we even got a preview image of a DE Event card for this, showing something that looked like a Primordial Limb emerging from the ground, but it was studded with metal bits.

Yes. But not just some evil corporation…

I suspected it was Revocorp, but I couldn’t remember for sure. Conteh Energy was the other main candidate I could think of.

Fair warning that back in the D-List Heroes episode they did say in response to my own question about the matter there’s almost no kid or teen sidekicks specifically at least.

Just to add on, most of our known sidekicks are usually main heroes in their own right such as Unity, Omnitron-X, and Setback

I think Marty’s the only established sidekick we haven’t heard extensive info about (as Thiago we’ve heard about in various places obvs), but I already submitted a normal episode about him once as a topic, so they’re probably waiting on him as an RPG thing.
