I know. Ignoring kid sidekicks, I’m sure there’s still at least a few sidekicks that have existed in the SC Universe we are as-of-yet unaware of. Also, it seems likely that there was at least one kid sidekick around (Unity and the Idealist notwithstanding).
I forgot this thread existed, even though I’ve had an idea on my mind for a while. Anyway, I was thinking we needed more Scholar stories, maybe a Golden Age one since we don’t have many heroes who go back that far.
Speaking of that far, I was thinking about the very earliest Plague Rat stories. Just how far back in history did the concept of “mutation caused by toxic waste” exist? For that matter, how long ago WAS Pike Industries generating toxic waste? I’m pretty sure that PR at least predates widespread knowledge of radioactivity, so the fact that his fluids are glowing green is a peculiar bit of coding.
I would love to see a Writer’s Room for a story where some of the villains in Villains of the Multiverse team up (Bugbear, La Capitan, Sergeant Steel, The Operative, Plague Rat, Biomancer, Miss Information, Citizens Hammer and Anvil, Greazer, and Ambuscade/the Slaughterhouse Six). A lot of them are really cool characters, but it seems kind of unlikely for a lot of them to be “teaming up” or otherwise working together, so I’m curious what kinds of things they had in mind when assembling that set.
Seems like March is locked in, but I have an idea for April relating to the Fool’s Day joke from a few years ago. They’ve talked before in an Editor’s Note about merchandising tie-ins and promo issues, so I want to see a comic book that was only available as special issue from mailing in Todido’s© proofs of purchase / box tops from Todd Lito’s© Pressed Corn Snack Biscuits ™!
Wow, really dredging up some forgotten comedy history there, Thunderbird…
They brought up Todito’s in an April Fool’s post just last year for the DE KS so it’s not that far back of an item to dredge up

Wow, so it was just last year? Time has had no meaning since the start of the pandemic. Just now starting to feel like regular life again.
But yeah, I want to hear a story about Earth’s Crunchiest Heroes! Maybe include Captain Cosmic just so there can be some confusion and a joke about chips versus crisps!
Yeah, but Todd Lito’s Biscuits is a pretty deep cut.
It’s not really. It got brought up last February in the Fashion Writers’ Room episode. It’s also in that KS update I posted. I might agree if the last and only mention was the Golden Age Legacy Radio Play.
That’s also the day Thunderbird joined the Forum, so it clearly must have been very impactful.
X-Men vol. 1 issue 1 came out in 1963, and it always had the premise that their powers came from mutations caused by nuclear radiation. Plague Rat came out around the same time, and his origin story was written a few years later. So it’s perfectly appropriate on that front.
I used it for my suggestion this month. We shall see what that produces if anything.
I would like to see a Definitive Edition rules episode (or something similar). I love the lore, I really do, but there are quite a few rules things I wish were set in stone.
Based off today’s episode I doubt it’ll happen as voting will always go towards more lore stuff.
Is there anywhere else we could get rule clarifications? “From the source”, that is. I’d be fine with it written down somewhere, because I definitely understand people wanting to hear lore more than rules.
Possibly over twitter. His handle is GTGChristopher
The definitive (ha) set of clarifications for the EE came from the “Fireside chats” as Handelabra went through the work of implementing things in the video game. The community ultimately collected all that together on the wiki. But it took years to collect it all.
Hopefully they’ll post a FAQ or do a Q&A on the forum or set something up on the wiki, so we have it all in one place again.
The plan is to do a formal FAQ on the website, but that’s been the plan for the RPG, too, and that hasn’t materialized. There will definitely be small FAQs in the expansion rulebooks, for the very most frequently asked questions.
