Living Sentinels Campaign #2 - Results Thread

Scenario 2A:

Heroes WON! Huzzah! Most damage was done by Tempest and Fanatic, Visionary helped with enviroment control, Nightmist... well, not much, but she was tanking like a boss. Last strike was dealt by Fanatic's Wrathful Retribution for whooping 23 damage, which was just enough to finish the job.

Visionary: 9 HP

Nightmist: 7 HP

Tempest: 9 HP

Fanatic: 7 HP

10 cards in Enviroment trash

Great! Welcome to the forums!

Game 2A

Heroes won (using Wraith instead of Nightmist)

Final HP were 5 for Visionary; 10 for everybody else

11 cards in Environment trash.

2A

Baron Blade win with 52 HP.

4 in environment trash.

2B

Chairman wins with 23 HP.  Operative was KOed.

2A wasn't close.  2B was kind of close.  Tachyon was almost able to Lightspeed Barrage twice to finish off the Chairman, but then a Prison Break happened.

On a positive note, not much of Atlantis was destroyed.

Not sure if anyone cares, but I am keeping track of the games in the same spreadsheet as above. Each game has a separate sheet.

Haka: 12 + 5 = 17

Ra: 11 + 5 = 16

Wraith: 9 + 5 = 14

Would people prefer to have the game start or end on Sunday?

End on Saturday, start on Sunday works great for me.  That way if I need to I can do two in one weekend.

Results for 2A

Victory!

But only just.

Baron Blade did not reach 15 cards in trash, but only because of Fanatic on 1HP when Visionary enlightened a Wrathful Retribution into her hand!

There were 12 cards in the Environment trash at the end (The last one being a Kraken, which took out Visionary, who then used her incap power to take it out!)

Baron was on 0 HP

Visionary was on 0 HP

Tempest was on 2 HP

Fanatic was on 0 HP

Nightmist was on 3 HP

The indestrucible shield did provide some problems but drawing 2 Environment targets and 2 very easy to get rid of non-target cards meant they were all gone by the start of the second environment turn, but that extra 1DR frequently annoyed Fanatic.

2B or not 2B?

Yeah, it was not to be.

Hero loss

No one ever got their hands on the Rod or the Idol, they did not come out at all.

Final HP, everyone on 0 except the Chairman, who was on 14.

Cold Snap was going gangbuster all through out the game, and a first turn Impale really helped knock the Operative out, but it wasn't enough. Anubis tried to help by pouring the heat on the Chairman for a while (whichi obviously did nothing) but when Impale finally had the Operative at 35 her HP raced down as Anubis punished her for each villain targets we took out.

Alas it was not to be.

Haka: 17 + 5 = 22

Ra: 16 + 5 = 21

Wraith: 14 + 5 = 19

Chapter 2C - A God against Gods

Haka: *examining the Egyptian Egypt.* This isn't bad, but I would prefer a little actions.

*With a large crash, the doors to the museum open.*

Atum: Ra, did you really think you could hide this from us?

Ra: Ward, what are you doing here?

Atum: I am not Ward, I am Atum, and I am going into that Tomb.

*Thunk*

Atum: Oww! *Looking down* Who throws a wrench?

*Bang* *Bang**Bang*

Expatriette: Would you prefer bullets?

Atum: Move aside mortal, and let me through.

Expatriette: Over my dead body.

Atum: That can be arranged.

Setup

Villain: The Ennead

Heroes (any order): Haka (22 hp), Ra (21 hp), Wraith (19 hp), Mr. Fixer, and Expatriette.

-The hp for the heroes are the starting hp, not their max hp.

Environment: The Tomb of Anubis and Rook City

-During the environment-play-phase, if there are more active villains than heroes, play the top card of the Tomb of Anubis.

-During the environment-play-phase, if there are more active heroes than villains, play the top card of Rook City.

-During the environment-play-phase, if there are an equal number of  active villains and heroes, play either the top card of the Tomb of Anubis or Rook City.

-Note: While there are two separate environment decks and trashes, they are considered one deck for any ability. For example, Ra can play Excavation, move two cards from the Tomb of Anubis's trash, one card from Rook City, and then draw three cards.

Results to note

-Did the heroes win?

-Final hp of each character. The heroes and villains. If the villain character did not enter the game, put in its max hp.

Do you play a card from each during the play a card phase of the Environment turn or does the start of turn effects replace the regular phase?

or something else?

Good point. I meant you play only one. I will go back and change it.

If other people agree with this, I will change the days for next time. I want to keep it this time, bexuase of the mid-week game.

I have no problem with the time either way.

Yay! Hero win!

The game started with a Taste of Immortality, and the second turn was Rise to Power! However, I have never seen the heroes tear into a target as quickly as they did. By the end of the first round Set was in the low single digits.

Mr Fixer had an awesome opening hand, Pipe Wrench, Meditation (for Driving Mantis) and Harmony so he largely ignored the damage coming from the Ennead, but the other heroes had problems with it, but surprisingly it was the environment that took out both the heroes who were incapped, curse that Anubis!

A total of 2 Rook City cards were played, I figured Shu's and Set's incap ability was hero choice, as both environments were considered one deck (if not we would have got 3 more Rook City cards).

An out of turn Unload, thanks to Set, finished the day.

Villain HP

  • Shu 0
  • Set 0
  • Tefnut 0
  • Osiris 0
  • Nephthys 0
  • Geb 0
  • Nuit 0
  • Isis 26 (Did not enter play)
  • Atum 30 (Did not enter play)

Hero HP

  • Haka 3
  • Ra 0
  • Wraith 0
  • Expatriette 6
  • Mr Fixer 18 (!)

PlatinumWarlock's 2C Results:

Did the Heroes win?  Yes, with difficulty.

Final HP of each character:

Heroes:  Haka [14]; Ra [4]; Wraith [Incapacitated]; Expatriette [17]; Fixer [13]

Villains:  Shu/Tefnut/Osiris/Nuit/Nephthys [incapacitated]; Set [26--Did not appear]; Isis [26--Did not appear]; Atum [30--Did not appear]; Geb [32--Did not appear]

Keeping Ra alive was really key for this one, as his nemesis bonus makes a BIG difference when you can pull out a Scorched Earth with Staff of Ra already in play--nemesis bonus for the win!

2A:  Epic Match

Info:

Heroes win

9 cards in trash.

Fanatic 1hp.  others incapped, no env. in play.

Started with 2 Kraken, collapsed Hallway and Mystical defenses in play.  Blade Slash and Burns to rid himself of being the target for Kraken. (boo)

Fanatic throws Martyr and Nightmist Lashes an Oblivion (3-3)  Env. is hurting, heroes hurting too.

End of Round 2 the third Kraken comes out and Nightmist dies.

But with Leaking room in play and Twist the Ether on Fanatic, she drops Divine Focus and wails on Blade (5 lightning to start each turn, yes please!)

Blade devious disruption, we keep only Twist the Ether.

Third Kraken is still out and Blade is at 1 Hp with -2 taken.  We can't kill Kraken so we leave Blade to eat the shot (fanatic plays Prayer of desperation), Hallway collapse flips Blade, Kraken incaps Tempest.  Tempest puts Divine Focus back in Fanatic's Hand, She unleashes on him.

A fortunate draw of Smite the Transgressor when Fanatic had an empty hand ends up saving the day by letting Fanatic kill Blade on Nightmist's turn.

Great match.

2B:  The Massacre.

This was an absolute classic Chairman steamroll.  Bad opening hands meant no damage for first round, and Legs even got inspiring presence, but no tanking stuff.  Worse is the Broker and Fence were the cards played on Chairman's turn, and with no killing either it was a bad start.

The Organization actually got full strength, every target from the villain deck was on the field for the last turn.  Mdjai killed an informant and a thief, but with the contract out hurt us much worse (and of course Thief and informant just came right back out).

Heroes lose (Start of Round 4)

Chairman and Operative at full HP

The Idol appeared 1st round, but sat there.

Not sure if I should bring this up or not, but if nobody had the idol at the start-of-the-environment-turn, it goes to the Chairman. This might be a great ecuse to redo the game.  :slightly_smiling_face:
