My Turn 2!!!

Felt like playing a little today. Finished off Nightmist by taking her, DC Argent and F5 Legacy against Spite in the Time Cataclysm. Argent and Legacy proved to be a fantastic combination, and Argent Adept actually ended up doing most of the damage!

Then, two games to finish off F5 Wraith. First, Cosmotron versus Sky-Scraper Extremist, Tachyon, F5 Wraith, DW Expat and TNAZ in the Final Wasteland. It was a pretty solid challenge, but the heroes triumphed and no one died. :)

Lastly, more Spite, this time EWAZ, Scholar of the Infinite, Redeemer Fanatic and F5 Wraith in the Enclave. That was a fast, surprisingly brutal game, and both Wraith and Fanatic were taken out by the end.

Been a while. :O Took an opportunity to play a little Challenge mode today, and ended up taking out AoG Spite and Skinweaver with Young Legacy, TLT, Scholar and Dark Visionary. Legacy and Tachyon hadn't beaten Spite yet, so that's two hits! :D

(It was a pretty great game, especially when Scholar got triple Mortal Forms going...)

Had a very depressing Vengeance loss yesterday, which I have since made up for! :V TLT, Xtreme Argent, PW Fanatic, Santa Guise and PW Haka took down Biomancer, Bugbear, Hammer & Anvil, Sergeant Steel and Plague Rat in the Final Wasteland. Getting Santa Guise to work in Vengeance play, you need someone to give him out-of-turn power uses, because you're not likely to get many presents over the course of the game. But once he got started, there was no stopping this team. :) Grinding it down!

Been focused on other things besides playing, but I have some podcasts to listen to today. I took down Biomancer, Hammer & Anvil, Ambuscade, Bugbear and the Operative with Argent Adept, GI Bunker, the Adamant Sentinels, F5 Legacy and Xtreme Haka. Let me just say, that was a fantastic team, it was a fairly easy victory. Bunker helped take down Biomancer quickly, especially once Bastion came out. Argent Adept started with Inspiring Supertonic, meaning we got two extra card plays a round off Legacy. And Haka spent the entire game just setting up and keeping Idealist alive, which was important, because she got targeted by a whole lot of stuff. But using the AA/Legacy engine to power the Sentinels' ridiculous AoE resulted in massive victory. :D

Had a game tonight with Mom. We used the spreadsheet to set up a fight between Citizen Dawn and Completionist Guise, Xtreme Captain Cosmic, Termi-Nation Bunker and Xtreme Tempest in the Enclave of the Endlings. It was a long, stressful game -- 10 rounds! -- but the heroes prevailed in the end. I played Captain Cosmic like a champ, switching back and forth between his forms with Guise to ensure I was always in the right situation to best help. The Constructs survived That Card, and an Augmented Ally on Tempest meant that, once everything was built back up, the heroes were regaining as much health as the villains lost. It was great. :D

I've been taking the Termi-Nation through all the villains slowly. So far, only lost two: Chairman, no surprise, and, ironically, Chokepoint. <.< Shoulda brought someone else. But that means the occasional slot filled!

With the help of the Sentinels, Termi-Nation took down La Capitan in the Enclave of the Endlings, in a surprisingly easy game.

Then an unsurprisingly easy game against Deadline, with Hunted Naturalist supporting. Coolant Blast is extra-good when you're fighting someone who regularly does lots of fire damage!

Then came the really crazy game: the Dreamer versus Termi-Nation and no one else, on the Mobile Defense Platform. Things were going poorly: Unity was slowly setting up, but the heroes were taking too much damage. Absolute Zero and Bunker went down in the same round before the Dreamer even flipped, and Unity was left with 1 HP. No way I could win, right?

Well, I won. :D Unity at 1 HP was protected by Stealth Bot at 1 HP, because Dreamer was mostly just doing 1's. The occasional Meteor Storm certainly helped, but bit by bit, I was able to wear the Projections down, mostly by sacrificing bots for Volatile Parts to do its magic. I would have lost the Challenge version (after getting 6 Projections under her, one more bot died, and she got smacked with VP), but hot damn, that was an insane win!

Had another crazy win tonight against Infinitor. PW Captain Cosmic, Absolute Zero and Unity went down on the same turn, leaving Bunker alone with 1 HP. He got a little healing, played a card, did some last-ditch damage with the Omni-Cannon while shouting a war cry and all that. I'm agonizing, because Infinitor's down to 4 HP going into the environment turn...

And then he comes up on the target selection screen for the Time-Crazed Prisoner. Who is going to deal exactly 4 damage.

Well then. :D Suffice to say it was a very satisfying comeback!

Finished with Termi-Nation! Found out some interesting things, like they're darned good against the Matriarch, and beating Kaargra with TNAZ is gonna be a hard sell. Also, why do I keep losing to Plague Rat? D:

With Captain Cosmic in tow, they helped out Heroic Infinitor in Siver Gulch. One of the hardest Heroic Infinitor games I've ever had!

Then they beat up the Matriarch in the Block, with Super-Scientific Tachyon assisting.

Next was a win against Progeny (seriously, and not against Plague Rat?) in the Time Cataclysm. KNYFE and Unity went down, so it wasn't exactly clean, but oh boy can AZ dish out the damage if he gets a power usage before his turn.

Then, a Wager Master game where I literally did nothing but double-skip and won. They took the right amount of damage to Win by the Odds on the second villain turn, and then a Meteor Storm came out, and Wagey didn't stand a chance. Guise supervised.

Lastly, a fight against the Vengeful Five, with Legacy and TLT in tow. Felt like it took a while, but it was nice smacking Proletariat for 10 cold in one go. :) I mean, you just never get to hit him all that much. (And that netted a whole 3 wins on the spreadsheet. <.< And most of the rest were Absolute Zero.)

Was trying to fill out some games for Cosmic Omnitron. First couple of games didn't go so well. Especially the won that played Caspit Playground on the Environment turn, then Technological Singularity on Omni's turn. (Boo!)

I did finally win when I throat jabbed Vis, then she play Wrest the Mind of and EPE. That was satifying. Can't remember who gave that tip, but thanks!

Had a couple more goes at challenge-mode villains this morning and ended up beating Wager Master with TLT, Greatest Legacy, Ra and AZ! Things were looking bleak until I remembered you can Sucker Punch/Wrathful Gaze him while he has that one card out that keeps you from beating him regular-type. :B

Nice! I'm back in, gonna try to get some more in to help finish this.Beat Cosmitron with F6 Bunker and CC and friends

Later beat him with GI Bunker, so no more video games for Cosmi!

Been stressed, so I thought I'd relax with a few hours of Sentinels and trying to fill in some heroes. It worked pretty well! First, a stupidly easy game of Greazer, Friction, Plague Rat, Sergeant Steel and the Operative versus DW Fixer, TLT, Adamant Sentinels, F5 Legacy and PW Haka. Legacy made that game work, though really, between a first-turn Grease Gun, Heroic Interception, Ground Pound (and potential Hypersonic Assault, which I never saw), the fight was a complete rout. The villains didn't stand a chance.

Next, a bit more of a challenge as Miss Info, Biomancer, Bugbear, La Capitan and Proletariat went up against Legacy, PW Captain Cosmic, TLT, Scholar of the Infinite and PW Fanatic. A lot more fiddly, but it worked out in the end.

Last Vengeance game was Hammer & Anvil, Fright Train, Plague Rat, Sergeant Steel and the Operative versus Legacy, DW Expat, Fixer, Eternal Haka and Ra. Ra was the MVP, with a first-round Drawn to the Flame ensuring he dealt 4 damage to everything every round.

Next, the easiest Miss Info game ever, starring Legacy, the Adamant Sentinels and Visionary. I just don't know what went right! (Well, it was Lead from the Front + Fortitude + villain only does 1 retaliation damage...)

Then another Miss Info game that was considerably harder, but still ended with Eternal Haka, Ra and Tempest alive and (mostly) well!

Legacy, Fugue State Parse, Rook City Wraith, Xtreme Captain Cosmic and Completionist Guise won to the odds against Wager Master at the end of his second turn. :)

Lastly, Unstable Kismet was taken down by DW Fixer, Ra, Tempest, Rook City Wraith and EWAZ in the Enclave of the Endlings. Got to do a 7-points Scorched Earth at one point! :D

Spent all day playing Sentinels again for some reason. c.c Got to experience the ignominy of a sudden, swift sentencing of the Earth to destruction, for one! I've never felt so blindsided in this game. I mean, compare to the loss against Iron Legacy: he started with +3 damage, beat down half my team, there was no way I was gonna win. But La Capitan suddenly pulls out a double gut-punch to America's Greatest Legacy, and it's just Game Over, and I'm sitting there like "...What?" Amazing.

Anyway, the victories start with Miss Information being defeated by Sky-Scraper Extremist, EWAZ and Tachyon in Megalopolis. Sky-Scraper wrecked her with just a single Hypercortex Stimulator. One to keep in mind!

Then, DC Argent Adept, PW Captain Cosmic, F6 Tempest, GI Bunker and Sky-Scraper Extremist won a close battle against Kaargra Warfang in Freedom Tower. I'm talking "won by two points". We actually had to beat down Kaargra herself! A hard-won victory.

Next, a somewhat close win against the Matriarch. Horus Ra went down in the last turn, but PW Captain Cosmic, Sky-Scraper Extremist (again!) and PW Tempest managed a crazy win. MDP Sky Deck helped!

Then I pulled off a fun win against the Dreamer with Chrono-Ranger Best of Times, Visionary Unleashed and Xtreme Haka. And no, I didn't save the record of that AoG Spite game where I misused CR's variant power. <.< This one was played right.

Lastly, Heroic Infinitor was helped out by the Xtreme Prime Wardens, because the randomizer rolled four of them and I figured, why not? Of course, they were repayed for their kindness by him playing his entire deck in the first two turns. It was just a game of "buckle the heck up and hold on for dear life"!

I love to hear these success stories. And the surprising curb-stomping failures as well! Really, any exciting Sentinels stories.

Pulled off a wicked comeback victory against Iron Legacy with RC Wraith, TNAZ, Horus Ra, DW Setback and TN Bunker in SIlver Gulch. Everyone but Ra went down in the final (third!) round, but he was able to keep enough Staffs around to stay in the game, and do basically exactly enough damage to take Angry Paul down. (And if he hadn't, I think the environment would have!) Satisfying.

Played a couple more games today. First, Miss Info, Greazer, Plague Rat, La Capitan and Sergeant Steel were taken down ridiculously easily by DW Fixer, Argent Adept, F5 Legacy, Ra and Prime Wardens Fanatic. Can't remember the last time I had a Vengeance game where I just took down one villain after another like that. (Fixer MVP!)

The second win was against La Capitan in the Temple of Zhu Long with Scholar of the Infinite, DW Nightmist, KNYFE Rogue Agent, Unity and Rook City Wraith. I'm starting to appreciate the benefits of milking Mysterious Ceremonies for card draws and plays. :3

I played two more games just because. One ended in a loss. D: Think I'll need a rematch on that one.

But the other ended with Golem Unity, F5 AZ, F6 Tempest, Naturalist and Young Legacy triumphant over Ambuscade, Biomancer, Bugbear, Plague Rat and Sergeant Steel! Who was actually supposed to be the Operative. Who was in the game I lost. :| And this one wasn't a cakewalk, either, Absolute Zero going down near the end. Still, any game you can walk away from...

My rematch didn't go so well. I blame Santa Guise. :| So I took my frustrations out on some hard solo villains and, uh, that turned out pretty good! :O

Like I said in another thread, Driving Mantis (and Twist the Ether) was the reason DW Fixer, Tempest and Visionary took AOG Spite down with minimal trouble. He was hitting them for 1's and 2's constantly, and there was pretty much nothing he could do to hurt the heroes more than they hurt him. Tempest is great against Spite!

Next, regular Spite had a really bad time against the Adamant Sentinels, Xtreme Captain Cosmic and Setting Sun Ra thanks to a turn-one Imbued Fire. I barely saved any Victims, he flipped too fast, but it didn't matter!

Then, Miss Information got a taste of why you don't mess with Mr. Fixer in the Tomb of Anubis. F6 Wraith and Santa Guise got to watch him Driving Crowbar all over her face, until she fell into the spikes. And then everyone was like, "Ooh, eesh," and just kind of shuffled awkwardly away.

After that, I had a stupidly easy game against La Capitan in the Enclave of the Endlings. Completionist Guise got the Xtreme Fanatic blender going, and it was smooth sailing all the way through. Visionary Unleashed, Tachyon and Expatriette helped! Though Expatriette kind of got torn apart :(

Lastly, a crazy game of TN Bunker, Xtreme Haka, Xtreme Captain Cosmic, Xtreme Argent Adept and Chrono Best of Times in the Block. The environment kicked more butt than everyone else combined; Char had two titles by the time the game was over! The turning point was Haka's 15-ish favor Rampage/Taiaha turn that got him Indiscriminate. Once Kaargra flipped back, we were set.

I tried a couple games in the video game this morning before heading out on a road trip. Used the random button for both.

A nemesis match between Dark Watch Expat, Dark Watch Setback, GI Bunker, and Visionary went poorly as the entire team went down thanks to Tyler Hayes and a double-Explosives-Barrel chain. Bunker clearly shouldn't have wiped the board of citizens using External Combustion earlier that round. Dawn was down to 29, I might have won if I'd held off on that for another round.

In my second match, Termi-Nation Unity, Redeemer Fanatic, and Prime Warden Captain Cosmic laid waste to Grand Warlord Voss in Pike Industrial. A couple of early Vat Explosions were a little rough and Unity took forever to set up, but we were able to heavily lean on Fanatic. Undaunted + Energy Bracer stopped a lot of minion damage, then Stealth Bot came out just in time to shut down the Trisolvent Vat. I left that vat out for the rest of the game. Every round, Fanatic regained 4 HP from a Vitality Conduit, got to use base power and Absolution thanks to a Dynamic Siphon, and PWCC healed the constructs back to full with the Crest. So, I got to keep Divine Focus out and was still gaining HP. Unity finally got set up and helped deal some damage late in the match to finish Voss before I got buried by Forced Deployment.

Unity finished at 11, PWCC at 14, and Fanatic at a robust and un-Fanatic-like 23.

Tried (and succeeded!) to finish off a few villains today. And a few heroes!

First, a crazy game against Skinweaver the Enclave of the Endlings, with DC Argent, Xtreme Captain Cosmic, Fugue State Parse, Setting Sun Ra and F5 Legacy. That Legacy variant is so good, until you run out of cards. XD

Then a two-round game against Heroic Infinitor with DC Argent, Fused Captain Cosmic, Sky-Scraper Extremist, Visionary Unleashed and Completionist Guise. Infinitor played two of his hit-everything one-shots the first turn, so Visionary Suggested them back on top of his deck. Great victory!

Next, a crazy-easy game against Cosmotron in Megalopolis. Fused Captain Cosmic, F5 Tachyon, F5 Absolute Zero and Completionist Guise were, yes, helped out by F5 Legacy. I was actually able to keep Cosmotron from flipping for the first few turns, then doubled-down on the Hypersonic Assaults and Next Evolution/Lead from the Front!

Lastly, another try to finish off Vengeance Blade that actually worked! Dark Visionary, Xtreme Captain Cosmic, Xtreme Tempest, Young Legacy and Santa Guise took out him alongside Ambsucade, Greazer, Fright Train and Proletariat! The key was getting Guise multiple out-of-turn power uses. I got lucky with a first-turn Dynamic Siphon, then followed it up with an Augmented Ally when it got tired. Guise was opening stacks of 5 gifts after just 2 rounds!
