Question of the Day!

QotD: What web browser do you use?

Chrome

Chrome at home, but work is forcing us to transition to Edge. :pensive:

Firefox for me. Open Source, baby!

Just out of curiosity, does that have anything to do with Edge’s new AI features?

Nope. Just part of migration to Win11.

Definitely burgers, hotdogs have are much harder to find good quality, and it’s way harder to make them yourself.

QotD: Do you have a defined ErdÔs Number or Bacon Number?

Nope! No published papers, here.

Weirdly, according to the Oracle of Bacon and assuming a trailer counts, yes. I was in a trailer for the Heartland Film Festival (a film festival here in Indy) that also had Hal Linden in it (as he was here for the Samuel Project - and I both served him drinks and had a nice conversation with him). Linden had an off-broadway roll with Richard Kind, who was in Queens Logic with Kevin Bacon, so, 3, I guess?

3 is a pretty low Bacon number, @Rabit!

I do have published research, but after some cursory attempts I’ve failed to compute an ErdƑs number. It’s entirely possible I don’t have one, due to different fields of research, but if I do it is probably something like 5 or 7 – high enough degree that it’s difficult to search.

I also do have an imdb page, from when a documentary visited my lab, but that only connects me with the doc host and the crew and I think that wasn’t enough to give me a real Bacon number, either.

My answer is probably the same as @dprcooke’s. Second place is most likely Seinfeld.

okay, then

At the moment, Sam & Max, Freelance Police.

What? You didn’t say it had to be current.

QotD: Do your prefer your sandwich bread toasted or not? And what about the stuff that goes betwixt the pieces of bread?

Toasted

Untoasted bread, and generally the same for the contents. Hard to toast egg salad or tuna & mustard, which are my favored sandwich fixings these days.

Notable exception for grilled cheese sandwiches unless you don’t count that as proper toasting.

I’ll usually heat the bread, sometimes the contents.

Eh, they’re both “heating,” so I’d consider them relatively the same, for the purpose of this QotD, at least. Plus, it pretty much goes without saying that grilled cheese sandwiches are, well, grilled.
; )
