Given that I like my grilled cheese sandwiches borderline crunchy, they are probably closer to toast than not. ![]()
Licorice is very tasty indeed.

Fantastically tasty.
QotD: Favourite flavour of jam or jelly?
And just to show yâall how ridiculous I am, I couldnât decide whether to phrase that QotD as âjam or jellyâ or âjelly or jam,â so I turned to the Google Ngram Viewer and Google Trends to see which was more commonly used.
The Google Ngrams showed that âjam and jellyâ was more common:
While Google Trends was inconclusive, showing them as pretty much equal:
My normal answer would be a nice strawberry jam without too much added sugar so that I can still taste the strawberries.
That said, a (very nice) jam place near my work makes an orange marmelade that is so fantastically good that my taste buds seem to have forgotten that I donât normally like marmelade!
On the jelly front, a nice red pepper jelly with some spiciness coming through is The Best Thing to have with some crackers and cheese.
A nice peach jelly or orange marmalade is nice.
Marmalade on a buttered English muffin or nothing. Spent my entire elementary school being fed peanut better and grape jelly sandwiches every single day by my incompetent caregivers and itâs pretty well put me off on both jams and jellies for life, but I associate orange marmalade with Christmas mornings (the only time we ever saw the stuff) and itâs escaped my distaste because of it.
Iâll almost always prefer Jam. I like the sensation that there might actually be fruit in it.
Marionberry.
So I dunno if this is fate or just a digital hiccup, but this topic just registered as unread for me, even though I was active on the forum for like six months after the last post here. Maybe, with >G basically shutting down, we shouldnât try to use this board, but alternatively, with C&A scrambling to try and re-house the IP, this is the right time for the community to show potential investors that weâre still here and still passionate.
Oh, and on the topic of Fjurâs last question, I wouldnât call it my favorite, but the unquestionable most interesting fruit preserves I have at the moment is a Chocolate Cherry jam from a farmerâs market here in the Midwest. I also have gooseberry, but havenât tried that one yet; the black forest flavor is quite remarkable, although a little dark and bitter for my preference.
(If you insist that I have to ask a new question, then it shall be âShould we continue?â)
Going by past experience, some bot probably posted here then got flagged and removed before you (or I) even saw it. Thatâs pulled similar long-defunct threads to the top of the âunread postsâ list for me in the past, and I expect itâll happen again.
As for continuing, Iâm certainly not going to myself. Thereâs virtually no traffic left on this entire site beyond FrivYetiâs regular Venture Comics posts over on the RPG board (which can also be read on RPG dot net, so reading it here is purely optional) and the occasional brief flurry of âwhere are things going with the GTG/FRG situation?â posts when thereâs any sign of progress. Not really much of an online community around here any more, just some diehard holdouts and lurkers, and this is the kind of OT thread that requires real community investment to sustain.
This was an ironic thing for me to say a mere 20 months before my house actually did burn down.
Ironic that this was the time I decided to join.
But hey you know what⌠Iâm here for the ride. ![]()
