It certainly is multiple magnitudes better than any video I'v seen from them yet. I'm a sucker for those long tracking shot gags. I watched way too many mel brooks movies as a child. Really screwed up my sense of humor.
Christopher, ever think of trying out for an Old Spice comercial? Get Paul on that asap.
On the Kickstarter homepage of Sentinel Tactics: The Flame of Freedom, go done to the "Miniatures" area, go down a bit until you see the Grayscale images of artwork of the miniatures. On there you will see an image of Ra.
Left my (wifi-free) office at lunch so I could back this (Backer # 249). Snuck out again later on but was just a touch too early to watch the instant of funding. Was at 57K when I checked before dropping in here just now.
Someone asked something along the lines of "Why minis?" For Tactics, yes, makes perfect sense. Even playtesting it, I used sand-ins just because I think it makes it easier to visualize what's going on. For SotM, you don't need minis. So why would you get them? Beacuse they're cool!!!
OK, yes, they'd be cooler if they came painted. (They'd be cooler by several orders of magnitude.) In fact, I generally ignore minis that don't come painted, because I'll never paint them. But these I pledged for without even looking too close at the prototypes and artwork. Why? Because I must have Ra!
Pledging for Tactics, pledge for the minis too. (Rent money, meh.) Not pledging for the game, pledge for the minis anyhow. They're cool!
I'm in the same boat as Silverleaf - although the price plus shipping comes close to the UK store price, it's if you get hit with the customs charges that it can really hurt. The game looks awesome, but I'm going to wait to either buy it somewhere local, or if they find a way to deliver the kickstarter without the import issues (I know some projects for other companies have, but I don't know what their circumstances were)
That said, congratulations to everyone involved for what looks like an excellent game, and for getting fully funded within half a day!
I am really into the game, but as others said 40$ for international shipping is too much: it almost doubles the cost, even if we get the game and miniatures (70$ for game+minis, 50$ in shipping).
Indeed the shipment is super high quality (UPS that takes 1 day from the US to anywhere else in the world), but other KS projects manage to ship for way less. I wonder how they do it. Maybe they have someone willing to reship the games?
