I posted the vertical card dividers file to my site. I'm still waiting for the Oblivaeon art so it doesn't include dividers for those decks, but it's got everything else. I'll update the file when/if I get the OB art.
Yeah, I don’t sleeve mine either… I laminate them.
I was talking to Adam at Gen Con and he claimed it would be cheaper to just buy a second copy of everything rather than buy sleeves for everything.
Yeah, this is why I don’t sleeve. (I sleeved the foil cards, but those are special!
)
I also sleeve character cards because they're foil and nice, but also makes it easy to tell character cards apart from the deck so people don't accidentally shuffle a variant in with their cards (I keep hero character cards/variants with their decks, as opposed to a separate tab/box)
Wait.
This comment makes me feel like I am buying SotM wrong - I can sleeve the entire 3200 cards for around $30, while a quick browse through the GtG online store seems to indicate it would cost me north of $300 to “buy a second copy of everything” - and that’s assuming I can actually even get everything (I’ve been waiting the better part of a year for my Complete Hero Variant Collection, with no end yet in sight…)
Are you guys paying ridiculous amounts for sleeves (I can get them for less than a penny per sleeve if I purchase wisely), or am I missing some super-secret discount for buying the entire SotM?
I use higher quality sleeves. I've probably spent about $130 to sleeve my cards.
Plus the time/effort required to do said sleeving...
Sleeving doesn’t take that long. I’d say I spent maybe two to three hours between sleeving all the cards. It was all done at the same time as I’ve sleeved things as I’ve gotten them.
Spiff, would you be interested in hosting deck boxes for the Cauldron decks on your site? I was inspired by your beautiful deck boxes, so using them as a template I'm working on the Caudron decks - so far, only the heroes are finished.
Regardless of where they end up being hosted, I would certainly be very interested in seeing those, as my group is preparing to add some Cauldron to our mix.
Thanks, but I've never really gotten into the Cauldron stuff and I'd rather keep my site focused more on the stuff I make. I hope you find a good place to make the boxes available though, because I'm sure people would be interested.
GtG has come through with the remainder of the Oblivaeon art (thanks, guys!) so I was able to finish off my set of accessories. I have just updated the files on my site to include:
- Card boxes (for both no-sleeve and penny sleeve) for the three Oblivaeon decks
- Vertical dividers for the Oblivaeon decks, for people who store their cards that way like I do
- Full color stand-ups for the Scions plus three different Oblivaeon stand-ups, one for each of his forms.
If anyone finds any problems with the files, please contact me directly at spiffworld@gmail.com and I'll fix them straight away. I don't check these forums as much as I used to, so posting something here may not catch my eye for quite a while. Thanks!
