The Scholar

We have a new hero! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gtgames/sentinels-of-the-multiverse-shattered-timelines/posts/352248

I'm looking forward to him. He sounds like he'll be pretty unique, if his base power is any indication.

Between his Hero card and the original Bunker, they have two core powers as efficient as Redeemer Fanatic. XD

But seriously, I'm excited for this guy.  I can't wait to see what unique mechanics are involved when he heals!

I'm hoping his deck is where his hotness is, because playing a fat, old Harry Potter who lives in a houseboat isn't making me jump out of my seat just yet.  I do like quirky heroes though, and this guy seems to sweat quirkiness, so I'm hopeful.

He reminds me of Ben from the Venture Brothers Halloween Special that aired last month!

This is pretty interesting. Another old man hero! Woohoo!

Alright, so his base power is to heal himself? Interesting. My initial thought is that he works like Nightmist, playing cards that will deal himself damage, so he'll need a way to regain HP. But then again, I don't think they'd want to release a hero similar to another hero like that. So I wonder what that healing will do for him.

He's got a pretty solid HP, so that's good. Color me intrigued.

I don't know how he'll play, but I sure want to read his comics !

So...the Scholar. These mechanics better be SICK because just from his backstory he's pretty underwhelming. I hope he's not a pure support character.

5 reasons why I like the character so far:

1) He seems almost like a parody of a Chosen One a la Harry Potter.

2) He totally SCHOOLS his oponents.

3) No need for a mask... what are his foes gonna do, blow up his house boat?

4) I dont want power creep on default powers, so his is fairly weak compared to other heroes.

5) And the real reason... molecule control! When people ask me what secret power I want, invisivility or flight, I say control over the very molecules that shape our reality. Then they say "ok, smarty... invisivility or flight?!"

Maybe he'll be the unexpected killing machine we never see coming. Maybe he can transmute trees into nuclear missiles and blow every villain to dust.

The guy wields The Philosopher's Stone!  How is that not interesting!?  He fights Akash'Bhuta and Baron Blade on his own and joins up with other heroes to have some company.  I don't feel underwhelmed by this guy at all.

I can just see this guy telling Absolute Zero "Dude. Chill out."

I'll see myself out.

Yes! His collection of spoons, his saucepand where he makes his beans, and his television with the rabbit ears are compeltely irreplacable!

I love the point about him being The Dude. I can see that 100%.

The carpet. Don't forget the carpet. It holds the room, sorry, the ley lines together.

He needs a flying carpet in his cards. I like this hero.

You'd think he could transmute some of the Cheeto stains on his shirt into money to pay for some pants.

Why not just transmute his clothes whenever he wants? This is a picture of him when he's just relaxing.

What if cheeto stains are the only thing he can't transmute. It's his kryptonite!

And his villain is the CHeetos Cheeta!

He also kind of looks like an older, chubbier Christopher.....

Does this mean that Christopher can create amazing things from nothing?

Christopher is already a character in this game. It'd be absurd for him to be two people!

Actually, one of the other heroes is actually modeled after what I look like.

It's Absolute Zero.

The guy has The Philosopher's Stone.  I think we can assume that means he's achieved immortality.  If you were immortal would you really care how many stains you had on your shirt?

Because I would only care about one stain.

Injustice.
