lol
I bet his nemesis will be someone who wants to take his Philosopher's Stone.
No, some one who wants to take his stains.
Perhaps a villain who has OCD and demands he clean his house and clothes?
That has to be it.
Seriously : I like the characters in SotM, but this one, for me, is high above the others. I like playing SotM, I like imagining the kind of stories they would have, but if this one had a real Comic, I would buy it right now.
Constantine meets Strange meets The Dude, with alchemy, gators and a swamp boat ?! Count me in. How fun following his adventures could be ! I want to see him paired with Fanatic or Absolute Zero. Or Chrono-Ranger.
That's it : I'm a fan.
Yeah, I'm not wildly excited about The Dudechemist currently, but I have to admit that when I actually get my hands on the deck, I'm sure I'll be playing it. Let the others play their be-spandexed heroes, with their capes and their muscles and their regular bathing. It's hard to resist a guy as off-beat as this guy is.
(Relatively) High HP and innate healing power? This guy must use his health to fuel his abilities... maybe he needs to hurt himself to create new things. First Law of Equivalent Exchange.
I'd love to see this guy be amazing. Granted, he doesn't have to be a heavy hitter to do that. I wouldn't say I'm overly excited just yet. But since I'm a playtester, you might see me running back here and shouting "Never mind! He's awesome! I'm so excited and love him!"
Yeah, I'm hoping he will be a mix of tank, support and enviroment control.
I have to say that, like the Assistant, I find this new deck to be a letdown. For some reason i really enjoyed Ambuscade and Unity, and was counting on another set of man I wish I had them now promo decks. But I have a feeling I won’t be playing the Assistant or the Scholar unless their play mechanics are unbelievably cool.
At least Silver Gulch, was an exciting reveal for me. No matter what I am still looking forward to May for the expansion to this wonderful game.
The Assistant is a monster. Don't underestimate her or you will be destroyed. Repeatedly.
Repeatedly, horribly, and with great shame.
And yet, she is still fun. The Assistant has an awesome mechanic where she [redacted].
Or when she plays [redacted] and a hero [redacted] [redacted] until s/he [redacted]. SO scary!
Oh, yeah, we haven't mentioned that yet?
Well, real talk: The Assistant will murder you hard.
... I cant wait for 10 days... so my money for playtester goes through...
the question is, when do I get access for paying it? I hope its not next may!!
No, you'll get access to playtester content maybe a day or two afterwards.
Basically after the kickstarter, they send out a survey to find out what extra rewards you'll want. During this process, they'll figure out who's a playtester and grant them access to the playtesting forums. It takes a little bit, though. Especially if we have a lot more backers to get results from. Like evandan said, it should take only a few days at most.
ALSO, it is worth every penny.
I for one am totally excited to see what The Scholar can do. What else makes a better hero than a guy wearing a bathrobe, boxers, and a stained undershirt that is also wielding the philosophers stone? Though the name could probably be better, but who am I to tell people how to name theirs heroes. I haven't done much platyesting lately, but I know that once The Scholar is available I will be printing him up immediately.
Yeah, I think really my only issue with both The Assistant and The Scholar are the names, they seem to be lacking. That's probably why I am not as excited about them. I mean, I am sure the mechanics will be awesome, and their stories do hint at great potential for them... but I just can't seem to work up a good level excitement about them.
