Just wanted to make sure I was playing the sentinels correctly.... If a villain card targets all heros is the damage applied to each sentinel or do I decide which sentinel takes the damage? In other words are the treated like unity's bots? Thanks so much!
Each one. They're all individual targets.
If it says HERO, then it's one of the 4, at your choice (Infection, Greatest Legacy, Kismet's jinxes, etc.). If it says HERO TARGET, it's all of them.
Also important is cards like Omnitron's Tech Singularity, as it hits each "Hero Character Card", lucky for The Sentinels that they only have 1 equipment in their deck.
The Sentasticar?
Not exactly. Mainstay's chains.
If Mainstay's chains are equipment, why isn't Writhe's shadow-suit?
That's an Ongoing card. Kind of.
Because he always has the "suit" - it's integrated into him. It isn't something he can go without, so it's always there. I imagined that was represented by his base power.
He does have an ongoing that allows him to do more with it, though.
I was going to type that exact thing, but I changed my mind
Yeah, area damage is The Sentinels' natural predator. Tonight's game was The Naturalist, The Sentinels, Omnitron-X, and Tempest versus Skinwalker GloomWeaver. GloomWeaver's start was pretty chump, ground through it pretty fast, but the second he flipped... Holy. Crap. The Sentinels went down HARD. If something is targeting them individually, Dr. Medico is amazing at keeping his teammates in fighting shape, but the second the damage gets too far ahead of him, all he can really do is scratch his ass of pure positive energy while his teammates get paddled. The four of them together are a great combination of healing/tanking/damage/utility, but the second corner of that square is gone, it gets ugly fast.
The Idealist's Incapacitated side disturbs me in ways I do not yet understand.
We did have some interaction questions between The Sentinesl and GloomWeaver's Pin cards, but we figured it worked as such:
When determining "most cards in play" or "fewest cards in play", treat The Sentinels as a single Hero. However, when it comes to assigning damage from a Pin (or similar effect), the player chooses which Sentinel takes it.
Chainsaw, you just made my day with that avatar (even if you're missing White). Welcome to the forum! Please be my bestest friend.
You are correct in how the damage from the pin works, to my understanding. Just keep in mind that the Sentinels character cards (all 5 of them!) count as "cards in play."
i dont think the set up card counts as in play. with all set up cards it says ‘put the (character) into play, blah side up’ so the character cards are certainly in play, but i dont think the setup card is.
All 4 character cards are "in play"
Setup cards are character cards right? at least with villains. Otherwise you could Stratosphere them and then Eyepiece them to the bottom of the deck. and they wouldn't be able to do anything.
If it wasn't in play the text would not be active, so I would think it has to be a character card.
Set-up cards do not count as "cards in play". Set-up cards are *not* character cards.
Yes, yes they are. Read any of the villains cards, when it mentions a flip it says "flips X's Villain Character Cards".
Do they count as "in play" then? That doesn't seem right to me at all, which is why I leaned towards not calling them character cards in the same way Kismets Charm is a character card (which absolutely is "in play").
That's when you read the Setup of the Villain Character Card, which says "Put X's Villain Character Cards into play, Y Side up." Amazing how all cards actually have the answer, huh?
