We're going to need a ruling on the Sentinels and Explosion in the lab, and exactly how "Hero Cards" and Character cards interacts.
Character cards have never played by the same rules as other standar hero cards. They are their own thing.
No tempest can't sacrifice his character card that's nonsense.
@Spiff just a note on the one large card... I remember Christopher specifically stating that the Sentinels will start the game with the most cards in play because of the multiple character cards. So you may want to include text on your oversized card to reflect that, or they will not play as intended.
Exactly. That's why I've always thought it wierd that character cards count as hero cards.
Why shouldn't Tempest be able to kill himself with his power? Young Legacy can easily do it if she's at 3 HP.
Not a bad idea, though the oversized Sentinels card is already really busy with all of the pix, rules, logos, etc. on there. I'll see if I can find room.

It seems to very much be 5. It would have to be word from Christopher however, but the villain rules very clearly call the setup cards character cards and put into play, so that is our only word.
I believe lynkfox is right and that they start with 5 cards in play.
I was just IMing with Christopher about something else and asked him how many cards in play the Sentinels will start with. He confirms:
Five. Their "setup" card does in fact count as a card in play, though it is not a manipulatable card in the way that ongoings or equipments or targets are.

So if Explosion in the lab came up for the Sentinels (no other cards in play) they would count as having 5 cards in play, but 0 destroyable cards.
