Probably just throwing out crazy talk, but has anyone unlocked Scholar without a Prime Warden on the team?
Maybe at least one of AA, Fanatic, Haka or Tempest needs to be with Scholar after he goes down to Gloomweaver--and they go on to defeat him.

My friend unlocked Scholar in Insula Primalis, with Nightmist and AA on the team vs. Gloomweaver. Scholar was incapped.
Got it. Legacy, Fanatic, Scholar, Visionary vs Gloomweaver in Realm of Discord. Scholar had 3 elementals out and had used redirection once. Fanatic incapped him. Then got relic victory.
Failed unlock.
Gloom weaver in the tomb of Anubis
Redeemer Fanatic, Scholar, Tachyon, Zero, and Expat.
Scholar had all 3 elemental forms in play, plus Truth Seeker and Redirection when incapped. Incapped on gloomy's turn.
Fanatic nuked Gloomy immediately after the incap. No unlock.
Failed unlock.
Standard GW in RoD
Ra, Fanatic, Haka, Scholar, AA.
Scholar did Redirection and was defeated from Drum of Despair hits the next Villain turn (so source of damage was GW himself) - I did this intentionally early and had only played a Transmutive Recovery and a Grace Under Fire on prior turns, no Elementals.
All other heroes survived (R 11, F 11, H 9, and AA 9), defeat of GW was by destroying Relics. No Villain cards in play at game's end. Only Environment card was the Time Flies distortion.
Based on prior successes mentioned, I think that the Elementals might be an important component.
Does anybody have info on whether the timing of when Scholar is incapped might matter (does the win need to occur in the next round maybe)?
unlocked him, realm of discord is NOT required as I did it in silvergultch. Team was Nightmist, Adapt, Tempest plus the scholar vs Gloomweaver. Also, did not use all the element forms and he incaped due to redirection, had used truth seeker on him due to the art featuring scholar vs gloomweaver. it took a few rounds afterwards to win and everyone else was at or near full health.
Gloomweaver in Tomb
Redeemer Fanatic/Scholar/Grandpa Legacy/Visionary.
had all elemental forms in play, plus redirection and truth seeker. Visionary incapacitated Scholar immediately before a three-relic victory.
also failed to unlock. :(
maybe it requires redirecting a certain ammount of damage with the redirection as I redirected an explosive wagon worth of damage from three characters before it incaped him (Nightmist was untouched due to mistform)
Unlocked!
Same setup as my last post.
This time I had Scholar incapacitated while all 3 elements were in play and the Redirection active (although I knocked him out with a hit from Haka). I also made a point of having and using Truth Seeker during the game (including hitting GW with it, still in play when Scholar knocked out).
Final situation had all other heroes still active, defeated GW by knockout (on first side). Scholar incap the round prior to the win. No other Villain cards in play, only one distortion in play for environment (although it sounds like the environment isn't important).
So: Scholar on team vs. GW. Scholar incapped when Alchemical Redirection active, and after using TS to hit GW at least once. Remaining heroes win?
I unlocked it as well.
Scholar, Nighmist, Grandpa Legacy, Haka vs Gloomweaver in Silver Gulch.
Scholar's forms were not all in play at the time of incap, but were all used in the game. Had Truth seeker out, but I don't recall hitting GW with it. Should have payed better attention. Redirection incapped scholar, and nightmist's obilvilon finished GW off, and unlocked Scholar of the Infinite.
I think Redirection and Truth Seeker are essential for sure.
For those talking about Alchemical Redirection probably being necessary—I could be wrong, as it's possible it popped out from something like Don't Dismiss Anything without my remembering it, but I don't think I ever played it in my game. Others have unlocked with it, so obviously if folks want to play it just in case, no harm, but I don't think it'll be a necessary aspect.
I definitely used Truth Seeker a lot, so I assume I hit Gloomweaver with it at least once, which certainly seems plausible as a component of the unlock.
Failed attempt
Crazy Ass Team - SS Tachyon, Argent Adept, Visionary, Unity, Scholar
Villain - Gloomweaver
Environment - Silver Gultch
At one point had all of scholars elements on the field at once, used truth seeker multiple times to hit gloom, villain incapped Scholar due to redirection with no elements in play, all other members were alive and Tachyon dealt the final blow to Gloom with light speed barrage on Argent Adepts turn. Only came across 1 relic (drum) which was destroyed.
Cards on Scholar's field when incapped - BWYN, Truth Seeker, Alchemical Redirection.
Worth mentioning: I had all relics in the trash during my unlock. And Cursed Acyolyte was the one who incapped Scholar.
Just unlocked!
Team: Fanatic, Argent Adept, Tempest, and Scholar
Villain: Standard Gloomweaver
Environment: Realm of Discord
Long game, but throughout the game, Scholar had played all 3 of his elementals (2 of them were in play when he was incapped), I had in play and used at some point "Bring What You Need" and "Truth Seeker" (I also purposefully used Truth Seeker on Gloomweaver). I waited around until I nearly had Gloomweaver dead, and then I played Alchemical Redirection (at this point Gloomy had 3 HP left, so I knew I would beat him on Fanatic's turn). The Grimoire of Curses was out, so I knew I could incap Scholar.
I had Scholar redirect everyone's damage so that he was incapped, Gloomy played the drum, and then it went to Fanatic's turn. Fanatic finished it with an environment boosted Brutal Censure.
My theory is this: Have Scholar on the team vs. Gloomweaver. At any point in the game, use Truth Seeker and Bring What You Need's powers, and then incap Scholar with damage from Gloomweaver while at least 2 elementals are in play. Then defeat Gloomweaver in the next round.
I fairly certain relics are not a factor as they were in all 3 possible positions (trash, deck and in play) when I unlocked him. Maybe the factor we are missing is teammate health? I know my full team had 15 plus Heath
During my unlock, Scholar was incapped by damage from another hero, not GW. I had used BWYN as well, though.
I didn't note my team's health during my unlock, but at least a few of them were dangerously low when I won (Haka had recently done a large heal and was at least 15, maybe closer to 20, but I want to say that I'd let AA and Fanatic drop pretty low as I reached endgame).
Ok, so I'm not 100% sure on the BWYN...here are 2 alternate theories:
Have Scholar on the team vs. Gloomweaver. At any point in the game, use Truth Seeker and Bring What You Need's powers, and then incap Scholar while at least 2 elementals are in play. Then defeat Gloomweaver in the next round.
or
Have Scholar on the team vs. Gloomweaver. At any point in the game, use Truth Seeker's power to damage Gloomweaver, and then incap Scholar while at least 2 elementals are in play. Then defeat Gloomweaver in the next round.
My unlock disputes your theory on two points, first I only had at most one elemental in play when I in capped the scholar, plus it took me a few turns afterwards to defeat gloom weaver
Neither did I, but similar to Haka's speculated unlock, perhaps it merely requires that they are all played during the game.
I didn't play all three elements though(skipped either iron or liquid, can't recall which), though I think I had mortal to energy in play when he was went down.
