Weekly One-Shot- Week 1

So this week's challenge is Mad Bomber Blade vs Young Legacy, G.I. Bunker, SS Tachyon and Rook City Wraith in Megalopolis, a relatively easy challenge to start us off.

Mint!

No damage from Bunker

Foam Grenade, Foam Grenade, Heavy Plating, Flak Cannon (no power due to Paparazzi) game won on Wraith's turn. But stopping the environment was really useful. It gave Tachyon a chance to get 12 Burst cards in the trash for double Lightspeed Barrage on her last turn.

The Wraith proved her usual self, setting up with Razor Ordnance and Micro Targeting Computer on the first and second turn, then losing both to Blade's flip and setting back up with Throwing Knives & MTC on her third turn and Razor Ordnance on her fourth, leading to her getting the kill.

Huzzah for (my) heroes, how did yours do?

Similar success, though I think my Bunker used Flak Cannon once.  I didn't use foam grenade, but Wraith's base power on the first turn allowed me to avoid a dreaded hostage situation. Otherwise, Bunker's base power proved very useful to bust through Blade's double force fields.

Tachyon liberally used Hypersonic assault, once staving off what would have been a particularly nasty Devious Disruption.

Wraith and Legacy dealt most of the damage through MTC-boosted razor ordinance and Legacy's one-shots and base power, though Tachyon delivered the victory blow with a 13-point Lightspeed Barrage.

fun! Thanks!

Had a game with MigrantP in it, and the environment did practically nothing. Mint!

Another mint condition win.  I give my praise to Bunker and his Adhesive Grenades; I played three of them, and they all but shut the environment down.  Aside from that, it was just pounding, with the damage coming from everyone else largely.

I ended up with Infrared Eyepiece in the opening draw, which basically meant the game was a cakewalk -- he only had two cards under him when he flipped, and only managed to get two in the trash on his other side. Tachyon ended up just discarding a chunk of Legacy's deck before finally finding Inspiring Presence, and the one time I Experimented on her ended up giving me Environment destruction when needed. Bunker just got stuck with cruddy cards for most of it, so he stuck to keeping the environment in check. Young Legacy finished him off very thematically -- putting on her dad's ring then a double shot of Motivational Charge and Atomic Glare.

Wraith had real lucky draws -- in addition to starting with the Eyepiece, using it got her Impromptu Invention. Using it her next turn got her...another Impromptu invention. With the Stun Bolt and Targetting Computer already in hand, all I needed to actually get from the deck was the Utility Belt and she was all set to go two rounds in.

Mint! Solo play.

Legacy got Motivational Charge and the Legacy Ring in the opening draw. Made the whole thing easy.

Took 4 rounds for Bunker to find a gun, but made himself useful with a couple foam grenades.

Wraith buried the paparazzi on the one turn I used sleuth.

Sucker punch for the flip during the third round, lightspeed barrage for the win in the fifth.

Seems like some people got the jump on me before I posted about it. I got a Mint: with Legacy dealing the finishing blow (it was very appropriate). My opinion on the matter is that this is a fantastic idea. Sentinels has a great layout to have daily/weekly challenges. Although my question is will we be seeing Advanced Villains show up at some point in time? (my guess is probably)

Yep!

Mint. Bunker (me) drew for the first two turns as cards weren't useful. Tachyon bought death ray balde down to killing range with two light speed batrages and Wraith got the final blow om. All this without even seeing inspiring presence.

Mint, Solo.

I have a feeling that they started us off easy and it is going to get more sinister!

The first mint is free.

I got a near mint on my first try without backing up... Dont know why unless of course the game counted checking how many burst in trash for going back.

Mint, Solo play.

Bunker started with Adhesive Foam Grenade then drew another one, so the first two round no environment cards were played. Then he had another round, then I drew another Foam Grenade. Lots of team drawing (multiple Bolster Allies, Fleet of Foot) made for a fun game. I love drawing cards. All the heroes finished with over 20 HP each.

Looking forward to doing more of these, and I hope there will be story arcs or something too.

I know I checked the icon to get a number of burst cards multiple times so you must have rewound at some point unintentionally.

I have to say, this challenge gives me a much greater appreciation for how valuable "not screwing around with the environment" can be.  Normally I think of Bunker as a damage dealer, but spending turns shutting down the environment deck might be a better use of his turn.  Granted, this may only apply for nastier decks like Megalopolis.

The one turn I didn't use Adhesive Foam Grenade I used the base Rook City Wraith power to avoid a Paparazzi on the Scene.   In fact Cramped Quarters Combat was the only environment card played.

Given what folks are saying compared to what I experienced, I get the impression the decks are all stacked.

Which is hilarious.

All of the one shots may not be fixed though https://www.reddit.com/r/sentinelsmultiverse/comments/3xs7lo/sentinels_digital_new_feature_weekly_oneshots/cy7pjs4

Ah, so the Experimenting was doomed from the start to discard several times in Legacy's deck. Darn, usually in random games, I can count on getting half of Legacy's ongoings out that way.
