Your Dream Team

That's pretty impressive. I have pretty bad luck with card draws though. I've played in M:tG tournaments with 13 land cards out of a 60 card deck, and my initial hand was…all land :(. The only time I get WR normally is either to start the game (and then things either go so well or so badly it's not needed) or at the very end, right before another hero puts an end to the villain.

I will say playing with other PW's or Redeemer will certainly increase your odds of seeing it more often just base on the fact you will be seeing more cards throughout the game

That was a really good game.  I'm pretty sure that's the first time with all members having come out that I won against the Ennead. Though it was also the first time I played against them on advanced.   I'm surprised Oaktree hasn't popped up in a while.

That game had all the shenanigans. So much fun.

This. So true.

Shortly after getting the Wrath of the Cosmos, my wife and I decided to try out the Prime Wardens (using the Prime Warden promos), and we were amazed at how well they worked together.

Now sometimes when we sit down to play, we'll say something like, "Have we tried the Prime Wardens against so-and-so?"

A great team indeed.

We've been using a team that focuses heavily on cards:  Parse, Scholar, Haka, TLT

Our end game, which is generally pretty fast:  Parse snap decisions and recompiles for 3 discards * 3 critical multipliers = +9+3 attack to Haka, and then does it again for her play for another +9, and for her power seg faults just for the discard and gives another +3 to Haka.  Scholar knows when to turn loose, discarding his whole hand which is most of his deck.  If the baddy is not dead yet, Haka will have an insane Haka of Battle with most of his deck.  And TLT is there just for the extra card draws.

So far, the team is undefeated except for when Omnitron started with two EPEs....

What, no Nightmist?  She's the queen of having most of your deck in your hand.

If you have a five hero team I would say Nightmist, Guise, or Argent Adept could all take that fifth spot.   The normal Nightmist like Arcanist Lupis said is pretty much the queen of getting through her deck and making use of those cards through her Amulet of the Elder Gods and Starshield Necklace.   Guise always loves having huge hands and putting together his combos off it.   He can copy TLT as well with I Can Do That Too! so that there are more cards for everyone.  He could even copy Parse's Ongoings too and use Blantant Reference or Where Did I Leave That..... to give +1 bonuses.  Argent Adept can allows more card draws to particular heroes through his Ongoings, allow heroes extra power uses, or  allow them to play extra cards in their hands.   That extra card play could setup Scholar to play Know when to hold them out out of turn and then unleash further fury with Know when to let loose.

Generally I play 2 player with my wife, so a fifth hero would be a pain to manage.  Also, Nightmist likes extra cards but isn't much of a team player.  Guise is still not available at my FLGS (and unfortunately I missed the preorder by a day!).  Argent is great, but doesn't care as much about huge hands (though his ability to let others play cards would indeed be nice).

Nightmist can be a team player with Enlightenment and uses of Mistbound.    Being able to redirect damage with the Amulet allows the option of destroying a target that might otherwise hit every hero target.   She has Ongoing/environment destruction which can potentially take out up to four cards with Planar Banishment.   She can also serve as backup to deck manipulation with Astral Projection.

Sure, but it's pretty much just that card that rarely gets used for other players.  Not nearly as useful to other players as Proverbs And Axioms/Don't Dismiss Anything, Fleet of Foot, Syntactic Analysis, Targeting Arrow, et cetera.  Yeah, I guess Haka isn't as much of a team player either (though Ground Pound is nice), but he's the primary damage dealer.

For deck manipulation and ongoing destruction, Parse is generally more reliable, especially with Seg Fault + Crit Multipliers.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread yet, but TLT, the Adept, and Unity (preferably in that order) kick arse...well, Unity does most of the arse-kicking but TLT and the Adept are the ones who get her there (card draw followed by out-of-turn plays to get the bots out, who then proceed to destroy All of the Things) >:).

Legacy, Ra, and Jim can probably destroy many many things with ease (well okay, Legacy not so much, but he lets the other two do it), but you'd be reliant on JIm's grenades for ongoing/environment destruction.

Swap Ra for Tempest and have a really mean team that fights, heals, and destroys key cards.

Then how do they get through the doors?

They turn on noclip

from the video game.

Young Legacy for a 3 man team, Core legacy for a larger team. Next evolution and lead from the front are amazing.

Tempest, a damage beast and game changing Deck manipulation

Wrath, Infrared eye piece is so good, very strong damge, can excelerate very fast, good damage reduction abilities. Does almost everything.

--- 4th and 5th

DW Expait, solid damage, ongoing/environment removal.

Ra, solid damage, durable, aoe, team buffer. i am likeing the Horus variant but have only a few games with him.

Honorable mention: the visionary and fanatic

With all the cards I have, I would play with the ones that are newer to me...

Parse

Sky scraper

Nightmist

The sentinels

the scholar

When I want to win in the vg I take:

Legacy

Visionary

AZ

Ra

Tempest

The damageoutput is amazing, there is enough deck manipulation to get the job done, and a sprinkling of healing to sweeten the deal. AZ is the change slot, most often, if I replace anyone it's AZ although there are other subs I'd make. Ra might get changed out for another single target damage dealer as needed, like Wraith for control, or Bunker for Tempest in a low target suituation.

The app has really opened Tempest up for me, he has become one of my favorite heroes now. I kinda wonder if Nightmist will still be my favorite hero after a month of fooling around on the app. For that matter AZ is amazing, and I've always liked him, but I think I've improved as an AZ player and like him more from more exposure on the app.

Prime Wardens, absolutely! They are my go-to canon team. Some of my favorite heroes are on that team, and they work so well together.

For my non-canon team, I go with a team I call the Fenomenal Femmes (yes, I went all Stan Lee): Young Legacy, The Visionary, Tachyon, Fanatic, and the Wraith. Deck Manipulation, Damage, Ongoing Destruction, they have it all.

I'm gonna jump in this thread.

About a year ago, there was a thread asking to build a team that could take on multiple villain encounters subsequently in an endurance type test. To be able to do that, your team needs to be pretty solid to start with, so I feel like this can be beneficial to this converstation. Here was my breakdown of how I built my ideal team for this challenge (I tweaked it quite a bit from my original post):

Teambuilding for Endurance:

To begin building the perfect team to take on multiple villain encounters, we need a cornerstone, someone who can take punishment, deal punishment out, and has the tools to keep themselvs and possibly others sustained through multiple rough patches. For the cornerstone of my team, no one really fits the bill as completely as Scholar. His elemental forms provide DR and heavy team tanking through redirection, massive self healing with utility team heals, the tools to prevent damage through Offensive Trans, and the ability to deal mass damage once set up through Energy forms. His out of turn plays will help during occasional board wipes. Scholar makes a perfect cornerstone to build an endurance team around.

1. Scholar

Now that we have identified the perfect cornerstone for a survivability team, lets start plugging holes. If there is one essentail component that Scholar is missing, its the lack of Ongoing destruction and general Villain deck Shenanigans. There are tons of great options here, from Nightmist to Argent to Visionary to Wraith, the list goes on. Parse, though, seems like a great fit. Her ability to screw with the villain deck and dictate what the villain plays is frankly unrivaled even by the previous queen of utility Dark Visionary. Parse brings the manipulation of Dark Visionary while being able to deal more damage than her on average, and also can be the saving grace to Scholars major other weakness, DR, with her nack for Irreducible damage. They compliment each others weaknesses incredibly well and they form the "core" of this teams strategy.

1. Scholar

2. Parse

Now that the core of our team is built, we can start adding the bells and whistles that will make our core better and more efficient. We have two heros are are pretty such specializing in what they do. Scholar as the main Tank with benefits and Parse as our Utility queen, if ANY of them can't perform their job, for whatever reason, everything can fall apart. We need a pivot, someone who can possibly fill any major need if the heart of the cards are not in our favor. The Naturalist instalty jumps out to me as the perfect pivot for an endurance team. He can flip the switch to the DPS/Tank/Utility role on a whim and has his own fantastic ways of healing, redirecting, and even taking the Environment out of the equasion when it all becomes too much withstand.

1. Scholar

2. Parse

3. Naturalist

We are coming down to the wire, and with only 2 spots left, the competition gets tough. The team lacks a definitive "Sweeper", the guy that comes it and cleans up the board through sheer speed and power. When the name of the game is Endurance, most of our heavy hitting heros are pretty frail and counter to our goals. Also, the team up to this point is very ONGOING heavy. But if we can ignore equipment destruction it leaves more room for Parse to be even more selective with her deck manipulation shenanigans. Tempest has the makings of of a great endurance style damage dealer. He not only has some of the best teamhealing, but his access to AoE and strong one-shots and enviro destruction makes him attractive. Haka is another prospect, where his bulky HP, healing, Ground Pound, and particularly Savage Mana could be very strong together and make a lot of sense. But there is another option that might not be very obvious. The Sentinels. They require very little setup, Medico can spot heal Parse or Scholar, they can team wide heal, have access to their own DR, can belt out a considerable amount of damage per turn (AoE and single target), and Writhes signature card can be used and abused. They can revive themselvs in case something goes horribly wrong as well, and when the name of the game is endurance, well, Battle Rez's have always been invaluable. Their healing can combo well with Scholar's Energy setups, and if you are smart about manipulating the HP of your team (an often overlooked utility), Sentinels provides a huge amount of sustain once everyone starts to hover around the same HP values.

1. Scholar

2. Parse

3. Naturalist

4. Sentinels

With one more spot to fill, we could look just about anywhere. Since our team is very ongoing heavy, we will want to stay away from heavy equipment users for two reasons 1) they will get hit very hard since they have no others to help them limit whats destroyed and 2) any equipemnt removal from villains can become a dead card which lets Parse have a greater focus in how she manipulates villain decks. So that leaves out characters like Wraith, Bunker, or Expat types who really rely on keeping their equipment in play. We also want to stay away from characters who run opposite of our theme of endurance, so heroes like AbZero, Fanatic, Nightmist, and Setback who all hover around the high risk/high reward playstyle. We could still use someone else who deals some solid consistent damage though. Ra would be a fine choice for that, but I'm not sure he brings enough to the table for the type of team we are building. But someone like Tempest really seems like a major choice here. He brings hard hitting one-shots for damage, boasts enviro and ongoing destruction, has team wide healing (which synergizes with Scholar's Energy forms), and brings team wide damage reduction with Shielding Winds which has a ton of value in a 5 hero team. Tempest does have a piece of equipment or two, but the good news is that they are not of vital importance to stay in play, and both he and Scholar bring trash searching utility to get those cards back into your hand. Seems like a perfect fit.

1. Scholar

2. Parse

3. Naturalist

4. Sentinels

5. Tempest

That's a pretty solid team.  I certainly would've guessed Scholar would be on your team but I didn't expect the Naturalist or the Sentinels.    The Naturalist only because he hasn't been brought up at all in discussion but I do think he is a solid choice in your grouping.   The Sentinels fall along the same lines but they certainly fill that Sweeper role.   They do have one equipment which means along with Tempest means they might not stay out long.   I could easily see Tempest in this setup just using Cleansing Downpour instead of any other powers.  If there wasn't a worry about him being the main target for equipment destruction I would consider Omnitron-X instead of Tempest.
