DE Disparation: Guessing time! (Ha ha, time travel pun)

Spite makes the most sense. Save the Bystanders from the evils of drugs.

Well, I dunno if we’ll get the PSA-verse, but I did see a glimpse in one of the preview videos of the cover from Episode 149 (anime/manga issue of Disparation) and that has me hyped for spiky-haired Setback/ā€œKid Legacyā€. Probably not, but maybe some artwork in that style on at least one card? :crossed_fingers:t2:

With the Visionary’s update today, I am reminded that she hails from the futuristic year 2018! : P

It looks like Dark Visionary stole Guise’s fourth-wall-breaking marker.

Why does Visionary have Manifestation cards? In EE, Visionary had a Distortion, the Dreamer had Projections, and Infinitor had Manifestations. It’s good that the Visionary no longer has a Distortion ('cause of its odd interactions with the RoD), but why switch that keyword with that used by Infinitor’s targets rather than change it to Projection to match Dreamer? Unless maybe all three characters will just have Manifestations now?

Or maybe Infinitor will have Constructs now, to keep with the theme of nemeses using the same keywords.

@Dandolo! Back in May of last year, you mentioned principles in the Definite Edition Predictions Thread! Did you know something that we didn’t‽

A conversation with a friend today sparked the idea that Principles could be used to represent playing composites of different characters. E.g., NightMist with the Principle of Compassion could be used to represent the Ashen Heir with NM’s Deck rather than AA’s, Unity with the Principle of the Gearhead could represent Omni-Unity, any Hero with the Principle of Fire could represent a mash-up of that Hero and Ra, or Mr. Fixer with with the Principle of the Wildcard could represent Lucky Break.

Unrelatedly, I noticed that the Critical Event shown in the campaign’s contents image features the cover from Episode #222 of The Letters Page. So, Glamour Critical Event using the Miss Info’ deck? (I’m not sure if anyone else has already mentioned this, so my apologies if they have.)

Yep, thought that was a playtesting thread. Took the post down as soon as I realized my mistake.

Yes, but the Ashen Heir looked like a specific card, rather than AA or NM with one of the new principles. I could have sworn I saw a bit in one of the videos that showed two decks being combined, but I couldn’t find it on rewatch. Might have been my imagination.

Who is the clockwork Fanatic-looking character? Is that someone that we’ve been introduced to? Doesn’t look familiar. Personally, I like the tech angel look. Reminds me of my LoL days, when a Kayle (angel-looking light and SMITE type) skin with high tech armor was introduced (Aetherwing, looks like), was about the only time that I actually paid for a skin…

Nightmist smashed with AA is in the preview video from the Backerkit. Scroll up this thread to @Jeysie’s post for a clear image of the power. It’s an AA variant since she’s a Virtuoso sometimes possessed by her ancestor’s spirit from haunted panpipes who just happens to look like Nightmist.

I don’t think we’ve heard any story of Shepherd Lifeline, Clockwork Angel Fanatic, Flamemist/Nightflame (probably not Firestarter), or the Chromatic Conductor, all names I just came up with to describe what are likely alt-universe characters since this is Disparation.

I wonder if he’s the Argent Artist from Arataki’s universe, especially with that watercolors-like cape pattern going on.

I’m fine with that too! Who’s the inverted kind of monochrome figure though? Another Anthony Drake? Clothing looks a little like the Seer, but face doesn’t really match.

If it is a color based thing, where’s Moxie when you need her?! :art:

I don’t think it clicked in my brain until I saw your comment about the other dude being monochrome that our colorful Anthony twin might be either draining the color from the hapless dude or have recolored him somehow, making it even more likely he’s the Argent Artist.

Or refugee from Sanderson’s Warbreaker world? Sorry, niche joke.

It doesn’t make sense for that to be the Argent Artist, as there isn’t any silver on him.

I like the idea of him being the ā€œAbstractā€ Adept, or something along those lines.

Dreamer reveal. Like Matriarch, the Critical Event will be ā€œsomeone else.ā€ I’m thinking Dark Visionary.

I’ll just repeat my comment from the reveal and say Mr. Jitters. Dark Visionary is more incorporated into the hero side deck, to the point where I don’t even know if she’ll still exist as a Variant.

Blink and you’ll miss it confirmation from the latest Editor’s Note that the Freedom Six variants are in this set, appropriately.

I thought that was a given. I’m more curious as to whether the XTreme Prime Wardens will be there…

Well, they said a while ago that there would be 15 variants for the core game heroes in this set. With the Freedom 6 and the 3 variants shown in the trailer, that’s 6 remaining unknown.

While the normal or Xtreme Prime Wardens could fit in there, I find it more likely that we’ll get Horus Ra (cause of the Ennead), Redeemer Fanatic (cause of Apostate), and Eternal Haka (cause of the Final Wasteland). This also gives us at least 1 variant for each hero in the core game, so 3 heroes are getting a 2nd.

I’m thinking at least 1 of those 3 are a complete unknown that we might get a preview of on the final day. But I’ll throw out a couple guesses:

Arataki Haka
Frostbite Absolute Zero (from the vampire world episode)
Shockwave Tempest (from Disparation Dark Watch Ep. 62)

Maybe in the absence of any Xtreme variants, we’ll have a Principle of the Xtreme. And you can say it applies to all the heroes to make the whole match feel Xtreme.

I’ve been saying this for a while now, but Xtreme Prime Wardens fit in the space box, because they show up during the Progeny arc.
