....I just had a friend send me an email complaining about how Cloud could hold such a big sword. He said "yeah, I'm playing it for the first time" and I was like... "WHAT"
I'm anxiously awaiting for him to reach the mid-point.
That being said, I loved 4 even though i hated that spoony bard and never wanted him in my party.
I'm a part of the camp that likes 6 the best. Sure, it's still the same old "save the world" thing, but honestly, how many games have characters that you actually care for, and each of them are so well fleshed out?
... Much like the characters in this card game what we all play! Especially that Omnitron X! Am I right! I like to use him with the Scholar, not just because of the healing that the Scholar digs, man, but also helps him set up. It's always a gamble of couse, and the first few times of playing Omni X I became too addicted to the draw of his power... Don't let a compulsive gambler play OmniX, that's for sure.
FF6 and Chrono Trigger are my two favs. I like them both better than FF4 though I'm a fan of that as well. I really like FF Legend on gameboy too! That was great as well as FF Adventure thought to be fair that is more of a Legend of Mana game with much different game play. I was not a fan at all of any FF game after FF6.
Dragon Warriors 1-3 were my first JRPGs. I liked them all a lot and they got much better with each one. I've nver played 7 so I can't comment on that.
I also really enjoyed Breath of Fire 2 and the super nintendo Shadowrun game.
I'm still chapioning Persona 4 as the Best RPG. I notice that all of the games mentioned are all SNES era (except DQVIII), and if you feel JRPGs have devolved into belts and overlong cutscenes people don't care about, check Persona 4 out. It has real life drama in it, and it's about people overcome thier flaws to become self-actualized. If you don't want to play through it yourself, Giant Bomb has an extensive playthrough on it's website (and youtube) which is perhaps the best Let's Play ever.
Also, would it be wierd if Omnitron actually had a female voice? We don't know yet... Just sayin'
Oh it would be so amazingly cool if (s)he had the voice of GLaDOS. That would be epic. And meanwhile Omni-10 is a turret or something. Or omg Wheatley, rofl!
